Hello, I'm Allister and I create a particularly personal style of documentary wedding and portrait photography. By working with me you won't be made to pose, jump, dance, twirl or otherwise play up to the camera. I've been a professional documentary wedding photographer since 2004, photographing hundreds of weddings and portrait commissions internationally; my style has developed into a distinct form of natural and honest coverage.
I tend to work with available light only and avoid using artificial light, from a flash for instance. This allows me to faithfully photograph the atmosphere of an event and occasion. It also gives my style a strong and consistent look, wherever the wedding or portrait shoot takes place. My natural and unobtrusive style captures the essence of an event without the need for posing.

There are many terms used to describe my style of natural wedding photography, so it can be a little confusing when researching into the different types and styles of wedding photographers for your day. My discreet approach to a more authentic and honest style as a wedding photographer is often created using natural and available light only and is most commonly described as 'reportage wedding photography' or 'documentary wedding photography'.
Wedding photography packages featuring a full day of coverage have a starting price of 2150. I have pricing options for a variety of durations including packages for multi-day weddings, just let me know your requirements and I'll send over a relevant quotation. I'm commissioned across the UK and overseas, I shoot a limited number of weddings each year to ensure every commission receives the same, exceptionally high attention to detail.
In essence, I don't dictate or direct but instead observe to discreetly cover events as they happen. I photograph your day as it naturally unfolds, capturing real moments and creating a timeless record of your day. I always photograph everything in colour and regularly provide couples with a full-colour gallery to site alongside their black and white and colour collection.
I design and create a range of premium, professional wedding albums for my photography packages but also other wedding photographers, artists and couples who are in need of a high end, custom wedding photo album service in the UK.

I'll be honest, I don't really enter my work into wedding photography awards or competitions, my immediate aim is not to be one of those award-winning wedding photographers, as talented as they are. I know it's cliche but instead, I focus my time on delivering exceptional products to my wedding couples.

We ordered our wedding album through Allister, we were allowed unlimited revisions to the proof which was really helpful and Allister was really helpful and diligently made all the revisions we asked for. He was very professional and we were so pleased with the finished product! We would definitely recommend.

Allister's ability not to miss a moment is incredible, and his energy and passion comes across in the photos. He really helped put us at ease on our day, whilst getting all the shots we wanted. We spent a long time looking for the right photographer, and instantly knew that Allister was the right man for the job. He captured our day in a way that we didn't think possible. Allister was such a joy to work with. Incredibly professional and understanding of the emotional feelings surrouding the process. We felt calm, confident and excited to be working with him up to the big day. On the day, Allister continued to impress.
