The Hotchkin Course is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is a precious part of the disappearing heathland habitats in England. As a SSSI, we work together with Natural England, the statutory service responsible for looking after England's wide variety of wild plants and animals, its biodiversity and natural features, to ensure the preservation of the Hotchkin's heathland character.

As you would expect at the home of England Golf, the practice facilities are outstanding. The single buggy I hired was quite slow and lacked the usual storage facilties a double buggy has. Not sure one should be charged the same as for a double buggy. The Bracken course was an excellent test, with some very varied holes, and quite short par 3s. Alison Johns is a fab coach. Our sandwich lunch was lovely, very friendly staff. If it wasn't for the cost of the buggy, would have got 5 stars.
