Referrals to hospital specialists for non-urgent conditions have now reopened. However due to the temporary suspension of routine referrals during the pandemic, there is now a backlog and you may have to wait longer for treatment. You will receive advice about how to self-manage your condition in the meantime, but if your condition significantly worsens you should contact your GP.

Urgent referrals are still operating as usual. However, these referrals will be triaged before being accepted. This restriction does not impact cancer referrals (often referred to as 'Two Week Waits') and HOT clinic referrals as these are being processed as usual. How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?*
Services
How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?* Dear Patient, We are asking patients to fill in this survey so we can monitor if changes we have made in delivery of services has helped them in accessing care or advice from the surgery.
Our Practice Nurses at Padgate Medical Centre provide a vital support to General Practitioners by providing routine nursing and medical care and are responsible for the assessing, screening and treatment of patients of all ages. The Practice Nurses may take blood, specimens and swabs, give vaccinations, and offer general medical advice, such as information on family planning or health-related travel advice.
We experience a large volume of requests for prescription every day. In order to safely and efficiently carry this out we would like to make a policy of issuing acute prescriptions. Medications other than the ones in this list will not be routinely issued on an urgent basis. Requests for routine prescription renewal would require 48 hours for the script to be processed for collection.
Please note over the next few weeks and months we are phasing out using our generic email address for patients to order repeat prescriptions. In its place we will be using our Systm One online access facility, this is because it is safer, more auditable and allows patient to see exactly when their medication is due to be ordered.
Please allow 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) before collecting the prescription. You will be asked to see the doctor for a check-up and review of your medication from time to time. All patients on Warfarin have to produce their yellow book before we can issue their prescription for Warfarin.

I thought I’d write a review on the service I receive from my surgery, it’s has been difficult for us all throughout Covid and all the restrictions we have had and difficulty in getting appointments but what I can say is the service I have personally received from the Gp’s there at padgate medical centre has been great especially from my Gp Dr Lam who has been amazing and has helped and supported me throughout a difficult time with regards to my health these past 18 months, she has shown what an amazing caring doctor she really is and she listens to everything you have to say and is there

Receptionist named Jen extremely unhelpful and rude along with male colleague. Had several family members who have all had issues with this surgery. One person tells you one thing and another tells you something else. I would not recommend this surgery and if you are with them and having problems I’d advise you move to another practice, plenty of other doctors who are willing to speak / see patients without constant blockers and covid is not an excuse anymore. Each patient should be dealt with on an individual basis ALL NEEDS ARE DIFFERENT!!! Shocking attitude and like other reviews state the

Absolutely gutted we have moved surgeries due to house move. How people can leave a negative review about this practice.. 25 years registered as a family and cannot fault the service. Always professional and friendly. Dr Clarke is amazing and has been there when needed. E consult works amazingly for those who need appointments during the pandemic. Always professional and friendly. Woolston hub also which is the sister practice, never had any issues.

Medical prescriptions got mixed up which could have landed me in a coma, or dead. There's also an unwillingness to actually respond/log any prescription requests, so you constantly run out of any medications you're meant to be on 🙃 perfect for someone like myself who is a type 1 diabetic with other chronic illnesses.
*I do want to add though, there is 1 Dr that is phenomenal here, and actually listens, and gives a damn about her patients. If I could, I would give her 5/5 stars!

REMEBER this is an NHS practice and can only do what they can .. AND those who complain or WRITE negative reports ! why don't you just change surgeries instead of being keyboard warriors . Remember treat people how you wish to be treated yourself and respect others Remember their only doing their jobs and are not there to insulted

Not impressed this morning. Trying to order medication via Airmid. I have done it previously but it is far too complicated for the average person. I am a registered nurse but still finding it difficult. The system needs simplifying. Also when you phonr up you have to listen to a very long winded message prior to speaking to someone. I was almost falling asleep with boredom. The message needs summarising so that it is more user friendly.

Can’t get in to see a doctor. Speak to the receptionists who ask you to self diagnose then tell you to use the e-consult which tells you you need to see a doctor. Phone back and they say there’s no appointments for two weeks. Been poorly with a 40C+ temperature on and off for 4 weeks. All they could suggest was the walk in centre in Leigh which isn’t really viable as I am a single mother with a special needs child. No support. I just want to know who the gp’s are actually seeing and why they’re a priority over me.

It is very frustrating trying to see a doctor.
They have an online appointment system that displays appointments for the next 2 weeks - but it always states there are no appointments available. And I mean always, not sometimes, but 100% all the time.
So, you have to ring them at 8am for an appointment that day, and of course it takes a number of attempts to get through, because everyone has been told to ring at the same time. It’s quite stressful actually.
God knows how the receptionist staff deal with it, knowing that the minute they start work they’re going to get bombarded with people
