As the UK is beginning to emerge from lockdown, the osteopathic profession has been granted permission to carry out its duty of care for its patients. My goal is to help people in Edinburgh find their optimum health through osteopathy by taking time to listen and providing an individual treatment best suited to their needs.
My osteopathic treatments provide a pathway to enable alignment and rebalance to occur; allowing the body to heal naturally. Adam has returned from working in an osteopath clinic in Vancouver, relocating back to Edinburgh. He graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (London) with a Bachelor of Science with honours degree in Osteopathy in 2002 and has been fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Services
Osteopathy is a gentle, effective therapy using hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of health problems; aiming to relieve pain, discomfort and immobility. It aims to return balance to the body's structure and function relating to muscles, bones, joints, nerves and how they all interact together.

I visited Tide after months of back pain and searching on Google for an Edinburgh osteopath. I had several surgeries on my stomach in 2014 (2 laparatomies due to a bowel abscess / adhesions and a ureteric stent) which caused quite a bit of scarring and associated lower back stiffness. This was recently made a lot worse when moving house and carrying too many heavy boxes and furniture. Being a bit of a alternative therapies skeptic, I was really quite surprised at how effective Adam's treatment was. The first session left me sore, but after sessions 2 and 3 I was starting to see results, and I am

Adams experience and knowledge make him the go-to-man in Edinburgh. When I last visited Edinburgh I had just had knee surgery a few months prior. I had made time to see him to work his magic. Result - fantastic. I was able to walk the streets of Edinburgh Castle during the Festival with comfort and ease. Adams treatment had provided me the relief I needed to enjoy my trip. Thank you Adam - Tide Osteopathy.

I have been going to see Adam from Tide for 4 years . Im Self employed so any time off due to injury can be costly. Addam always manages to fit me in to his schedule and with out fail has me back in action. Over the years he has also helped me to understand why some of my recurring problems arise and worked with me to help minimise and eliminate them. I cant recommend him enough . Adam is calm professional and skilled and what he does.

After suffering years of pain, principally in my feet but really all over my body, following an inconclusive diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy about 20 years ago, I was introduced to Adam Harker after my 5 year old son had been successfully treated by him. After seeing the difference in our son, my wife suggested that Adam may be able to help me in some way. I couldn’t believe the difference in pain relief and general wellbeing, even after the first appointment. Although the treatment was wholly uninvasive, it had a very exhausting effect on me during the first few treatments. I was amazed at

I have seen numerous osteopaths over the years and when I found Adam I realised I had found someone who could help to solve my pain long term and work towards full health. I had several different sport related injuries (mostly climbing and mountaineering). Over several years of treatment the pain has reduced, posture improved and overall health considerably better.
I can not recommend Adam highly enough. First class. Money VERY well spent.

I was a bit of a skeptic when I heard about cranial osteopathy when my friend recommended it to help relieve gas in babies, but I'm so happy I tried it with my three month old son. Even after only 1 session, I noticed an improvement in his sleeping and general comfort. He wasn't as tense, was in visibly less pain, managed to nap more easily during the day and his bowel movements became more regular. I went for the mum and baby check, as dealing with two babies has taken its toll. Adam was very professional and knowledgeable. His passion for osteopathy is clearly evident and he explains the reasons
