With two young children of our own, it was whilst Briony was on maternity leave from her teaching role and thinking about the practicalities (and realities!) of getting back to work, that we both recognised the need locally for high quality nursery provision. We channelled our energies into creating a nursery that we understood from both sides: as educators and as parents.
Children are born ready to learn and interested in the world around them. It is natural for them to use all their abilities to learn. From birth children are learning about themselves, other people and the world around them, and playing an active role in their own learning and development.
It is our aim to help children become successful learners and confident individuals, through learning opportunities that are responsive to the needs and abilities of each and every child, which will be provided for them in a safe, caring environment, in partnership with their parents and their community.

Having them by our side has allowed us to grow with the confidence that our values and high standards are sustained. We recognise that our staff team is the most important aspect of our nurseries and we work hard to enable them to flourish. We offer our staff a happy, dynamic place to work, standards are high at Egg and we ask everyone to meet and exceed those standards every day.
Food, especially in the early years, should never be an afterthought. We have professional chefs creating healthy appealing dishes all day and our tea is not just a snack, but a hot filling meal. Our menus are designed following the Caroline Walker Trust. Using this as our guidance, we can ensure that all children within our care will receive nutritional homemade meals each day.
Picket Twenty is a new development of houses with excellent links to the A303 & A34. Our nursery is located in the heart of the community opposite the primary school Pilgrims Cross. We have developed strong links with the school. The nursery and garden has been designed and built to the highest standards and equipped with CCTV throughout.

Our daughter was here for about six months - she really enjoyed her time here and made great progress in her motor and communication skills.
We immediately felt at ease leaving her there! She very quickly formed bonds with members of staff testament to their caring and nurturing attitude to the children!
We were very sad to have to remove our daughter due to a house move - we can’t recommend this wonderful nursery enough!
