We pride ourselves on our menus that change frequently to reflect seasonal availability of our wonderful local produce. All of our meat is free-range and our beef is aged nearby in Ewhurst, our fish is sustainably sourced from day boats in Hastings.
We sell locally sourced ales including from just 1/2 a mile down the road at Battle Brewery and from Harvey's, Lewes. Our bar has a wide selection of over 45 different Gins, 12 Vodkas and 10 Rums, so there is something to suit every palate, we also offer a large variety of wines by the glass.

Booked in today for lunch. As a family group of 6 adults with our dogs, we were seated in a comfortable annex area. It was very busy, and as we were early, our table wasn’t quite ready. We were made welcome however, and were served some drinks while we waited. Once seated, we settled in and allowed the staff to look after us, which they did very well. The food was very good, and we enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch. A big thank you to all the staff including those behind the scenes as we truly had a most enjoyable afternoon. Highly recommended. Thank you.

I’m not sure about this place.
It is excellent in the beer department. Great Harvey’s bitter from down the road.
But the restaurant seems to be struggling a bit, probably due to the pandemic and other factors. The food was ok. But I was not wowed. It promises better, hopefully one day it will deliver.

Good Sunday roast with good selection of drinks and food.
The menu on Sunday is a standard Sunday roast with all the choices. I had beef and lamb and it came with a Yorkshire pudding and plenty of vegetables. Was a decent meal and didn't even finish my plate there was a lot.
Would recommend making a reservation and they took Covid19 very seriously with good tables and staff clearly cleaning and good social distancing.
Good value too lovely garden if it's sunny!

Staff were really friendly, organised and attentive. Booking in was nice and simple via a one way system through the pub building.
We went on a Sunday and had the roast which was delicious, the pork belly is highly recommended. Seating areas were well laid out and clean. We look forward to going back again soon.
