We have been established in our current premises for 35 YEARS, the original surgery was founded in the early 1960s by Dr. W.H.Clarke as a house practice, with a visiting Optician Dispensing Spectacles. In 1985 the Dispensing side of the practice was taken over by his son, Mr. Paul Clarke, and the opportunity to move to premises on Riverview was taken.

We put this into effect with our experienced team of opticians and extensive range of services, from eye tests to repairs and ensuring your Spectacles are fitting correctly.
At chandler clarke opticians we believe that we are in a service industry, so we work hard every day to give our customers the best possible service. We endeavour to give clients an excellent after care service where possible. We can have spectacles repaired or adjusted. Unfortunately in this day and age spectacle frames are discontinued fairly frequently, this results in us sometimes not being able to replace parts.
Your glasses not only need the correct prescription but they also need to suit you, and to be comfortable, we will give you comprehensive and honest advice on which styles are suitable for your prescription so that you can find glasses with which you can see well and look great. You benefit from our comprehensive range of frames, with fashions for every taste, from top designer brands to our established standard collection.
The needs and wearing habits of contact lens wearers are as different as the wearers themselves. Not only do we stock a wide range of different contact lenses, but we are also happy to give you responsible personal advice if you have yet to find the lens which is right for you. We make no charge for Contact Lens consultations, unless the lenses are going to be purchased elsewhere (online etc), in which case a fee of 25.00 will be payable.
The right lenses are crucial to good vision and comfortable spectacle wearing. They differ from eye to eye. We will give you comprehensive advice on choosing the best lenses for you and have a large number of single vision lenses in stock. Most Spectacle types can be supplied within a week to ten days, even Varifocals with anti-reflection coatings.

From the moment I walked in the door I was made to feel welcome & made to feel like a valued customer.
I would recommend this opticians to anyone without hesitation.
The glasses I bought were much cheaper than I expected & no less the quality for it.
I also asked if it was possible to repair an old pair for me that were not bought here & not only did they fix them but I was not charged for the repair.
Customer service like this is dying & its so nice to see its alive & well right here.
Pay them a visit, you wont be disappointed.

Whole family been coming here for years. I have had many problems with my eyesight over a number of years and have always been promptly referred to the hospital. Recently my son's glasses of three years fell apart. He bought new ones,but at no extra cost Paul found some new arms and did a paint job on the broken ones. He now has a spare pair that look like new ( apart from the lenses of course). Not many places give such fantastic customer service as this.
