If you require support over the weekend (including bank holidays) you can still use the eConsult service for self-help and pharmacy advice regarding your condition. Patients to be careful of receiving text messages asking for personal information to be sent, as this is a scam. Please do not respond to these text messages sharing your personal details.
Cervical screen reminders and appointment reminders do not request your personal information, so these would be correct.

Services
Our receptions staff are there to help you access the appropriate service. You may be asked by the receptionist to give a brief description of your problem before you can speak to the doctor. Patients with more urgent problems can be seen on the day and patients are encouraged to call as soon after 8.00am as possible for an appointment or speak to the Duty Doctor.
Welling Medical Practice (HH) is the Branch Surgery at 12 Avery Hill Road, New Eltham, so if you are booking on- line or receiving a text message, it would be to confirm it is at New Eltham. For Welling Medical Practice, 2 Danson Crescent, Welling it will just say Welling Medical Practice. The Surgery has for many years offered a service for our patients to request an appointment or repeat prescription via our practice website.
If you require medical attention outside surgery hours, there is urgent and emergency cover ONLY provided by an Out of Hours GP service. To access this you will need to contact NHS 111, by dialling 111. NHS 111 is a service that has been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from. If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription.
We would like to take this opportunity to outline our Practice Procedure for re-ordering medication, to prevent misunderstandings and delays in receiving your prescription. Certain drugs will be authorised by a Doctor for a certain amount of issues before they need to review your medication again, these are known as REPEATS.

If we’re possible to give a minus rating then a minus 5 would be appropriate here. If your sick and in need of compassion advice assistance or maybe even some medical help keep clear of this practice unless you want to add mental health issues to your list of ailments because these useless unhelpful rude individuals will drive you made with shocking levels of incompetence. And just in case I haven’t been particularly clear do your self a favour and

Would it really hurt the receptionists in this surgery to be professional, friendly and helpful? I think it wouldn't hurt. It might even make their work more pleasant. But NO! Where do I start? Absolutely unpleasant and unprofessional staff ever! You can never get through on the phone, forget having any luck in getting an appointment and be prepared to be interrogated about your personal and private problem by unqualified receptionist. The doctors and nurses are actually quite good but are let down by reception big time. I just don't understand why are they so nasty when no one is coming to gp

I understand and I appreciate the receptionists may very well be over-worked but their lack of compassion and professionalism is simply unacceptable. Some amazing GPs and nurses at the practice; However to access them is hell. Telephone appointments constantly. Not everything can be solved by a telephone appointment when people are otherwise engaged. Please set up video-calls and diary manage effectively to aid the GPs and nurses! Many thanks.

Good luck getting any help from this place. You're lucky if you can reach anyone by phone, appointments are a nightmare to make - often getting cancelled or incorrectly rescheduled without notice even after a long wait time for said appointment.
They will lose medical letters, not send important referrals for months, ignore emails and letters sent to them and if you even dream of being frustrated by any of this they will dismiss your complaints like you're at fault.
If you have any long term medical issues, you are better off finding a new surgery. If I could leave less than 1 star I would.

This is a Minus 2 Star review of the Welling Surgery - the one in New Eltham is miles better. My partner has just been told they are following a 13 week gap before giving the second Covid vaccination. Goodness knows why as NHS guidelines say 11-12 weeks. Unfortunately it is just par for the course with what is a useless practice whose doctors are only interested in you as a patient if there is money in it for them.

It is a real shame that this Doctors surgery is let down by some of their uncooperative, unhelpful and rude receptionists. There are a lot of vulnerable people that need help and to then have to negotiate a time slot to speak to a Doctor is horrendous. They want to know all the ins and outs and then decide whether you can speak to a Doctor. Its appalling. The real shame is if you complain nothing is done. The Practice Manager should look at these complaints (as there are so many) and see this as positive criticism and act, we can't all be wrong.

Why are the receptionists so rude & unhelpful? Every other GP practice in the area will help with appointments etc, not this lot, even though I said my laptop was out of action I was told to fill out the online form to get an appointment - even though I was there in person & she was standing next to her screen!!
And that was only after she'd dragged herself away from chatting to her colleagues, and myself and another person were standing in the rain waiting to be attended to. Don't the doctors care about how their receptionists come across to the public?

I would rather rate this surgery as a -1 but do not have the option. They are the most rudest, unhelpful receptionists I have ever come across - This is not even my surgery it is my partner's. They do not care about people or life. I get there is a pandemic and feel they are using this to their advantage. I have had to call them a couple times on behalf of my partner whilst he is at work and have only met with rudeness when I call. My surgery is Ingleton Avenue and they are so nice and helpful and we get appointments and helped whenever you call. This shoddy lot think it is ok to ask what you want
