At Characters nursery we cater for babies, toddlers and pre-school children, with separate rooms for each age group. Together with a garden and outdoor play area, these facilities ensure a pleasant environment with plenty of space for children to learn, relax and enjoy themselves. We wanted to keep the nursery like a big house, so it's a bit like visiting Nan's house.

Services
This room provides a range of activities such as role-play and encourages more social interaction, but also understands the need for individual play, which helps to encourage independence and confidence. In the toddler room the children can view all the staff and children from the baby room so that they have the extra comfort of a familiar face when they move rooms.
The garden is secure, walled and south-facing with plenty of shaded areas to keep out of the sun on really hot days. We have recently expanded the garden and created two areas, one has rubber play chippings, the other has a natural bark surface. The children's chickens (which they hatched from eggs in the Pre-School last year) live in a coop at the bottom of the garden and will soon be joined by some of the bantams they have just hatched.
