Plaistow Hill is a happy, safe and caring environment at the heart of our local community, where everyone is welcome. We work together to build strong foundations for every child's future steps in life. We nurture and foster a love of learning that will hopefully last their whole life through. As a staff we recognise that we cannot teach effectively without your involvement and support.

You are your child's first teachers and we want to work closely with you to give your child the best education possible. In partnership with you we aim to encourage each child to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum through good quality teaching, the provision of an interesting, challenging and stimulating environment and the expectation of high standards of behaviour.
Services
Please note that the School Admission Code 2014 has required amendment to our existing admission policies. Previously looked after children are children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order).
At Plaistow Hill the children in the Nursery and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and in KS1 the children follow the National Curriculum. We have a number of guiding principles which are the 'drivers' for our curriculum to ensure that our curriculum offer is as enriched and personalised for our children.
The decision to close the school is not taken lightly and we will consider all the available options before deciding to close the school. The usual reason to close the school is due to the limited availability of staff. Many members of staff do not live locally and have to travel some distance into work.
As it is important for children to understand helping those less fortunate than ourselves, we fund raise throughout the year for a variety of charities and organisations as well as for our own school. We will do this through school discos, raffles as well as a whole school sponsored event. We raised 293 for Children in Need this year.
We are proud to announce that Plaistow Hill Infant and Nursery School has achieved an important benchmark by being awarded the Learning Outside of the Classroom Mark (Bronze) award. This is a powerful statement of our understanding of, and commitment to, the benefits of learning outside the classroom.

My daughter has attended the toddler group at Plaistow, pre Covid, and now attends their nursery. The school staff are thoughtful and patient. My daughter loves it, so much so there's a fuss coming home. It feels like a village school and has such an outdoor space full of trees and greenery which is rare for the city.
