Y P I Counselling
YPI Counselling is a registered charity offering confidential counselling to young people aged 11-25 in the Basingstoke and Deane area. Working closely with local doctors, schools, colleges and Children's Services we offer counselling to support a wide range of issues affecting young people and parents, with the aim of helping families reach their full potential.

Young people can access our services individually. YPI Counselling is funded by grants from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group amongst others. If you are a young person looking to access our service you can use our Self Referral Form by visiting our Youth Counseling Page.
Services
Supporting hundreds of young people, parents and professionals each year, YPI is the leading youth counselling charity in Basingstoke. We provide Mental Health and emotional support to young people aged 11 to 25 years old and parents of all ages through a range of interventions including 1-to-1 counselling sessions, group work and psycho-educational activities.
YPI provides up to 6 sessions of free counselling to 11-25 year olds, offering a confidential and safe space for young people to talk to a professional counsellor about their worries, concerns and difficulties. We can support a wide range of areas such as self-esteem, anxiety, depression, school or family issues, stress and relationships.
YPI provides up to 12 sessions of free mentoring to 10-19 year olds, offering a confidential and safe space for young people to talk to a professional mentor about their worries, concerns and difficulties. We can support a wide range of areas such as self-esteem, school or family issues, social skills and friendship issues.
To continue to meet the needs of young people and parents within the local community we continuously monitor and review the needs of our clients and, thanks to the support of specific funders, aim to provide specialist counselling services where possible to meet the needs of particularly vulnerable clients or to fill a gap in service provision where this is needed.
We are always keen to hear from anyone who wants to help YPI Counselling by volunteering. There are many ways you can help whether you want to give a few hours per week, or just help on one off projects. We have regular opportunities to get involved with the charity in a voluntary capacity ranging from being on the Board of Directors, to helping with administration.
