Our aim is to ensure that by the time your child reaches school age they are confident, secure and able to achieve their own goals. The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education from birth to five years. Most children are expected to achieve the early learning goals by the end of the Foundation stage.

Services
Children have a beautiful, bright hall, large classroom, art room and garden to learn, socialise and exercise everyday. Our outstanding staff team provide varied and interesting activities for the children to take part in according to their interests for example planting fruit and vegetables in the summer.
All our staff are qualified and experienced childcare professionals who have been appointed through a robust vetting, recruitment and induction process. This includes an enhanced DBS check. Our staff are all trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene. We offer many additional training opportunities to our staff to ensure they remain up to date with all current practices and legislation.
The EYFS Early Learning Goals are achieved by providing the children with opportunities to have a wide range of adult led and child led focused activities which will develop a positive sense of self and others, respect for others and social skills, emotional well being and a disposition to learn.
The Main Hall will have the six areas of learning where children will have access to a wide range of resources enabling children to develop fully the Early Learning Goals.Children will be able to explore and share thoughts and feelings through art, imaginative and role play activities. The children have their own secure area for physical play, to develop their co-ordination and fine motor skills and to enjoy the health benefits of being outdoors.

When your child starts at the pre-school a settling in period is arranged to ensure a smooth transition from home to pre-school. It is also an opportunity for us to learn more about you and your child. Settling sessions will be arranged by your key person. Throughout the pre-school we believe in a 'learning through play' philosophy and actively encourage this at all times.
Rowlands Avenue Pre-School recognises the important role that parents play in their children's development and progress. All parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's learning and take an active role both at home and at the pre-school. We encourage all parents to become familiar with the routine to ensure that there is consistency between their home life and pre-school.
