We serve tea, coffee and pastries to enjoy in the garden. You can also pick up all your food essentials and treats including our famous sausage rolls. Check our blackboard outside the pub, follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see our weekly specials. Order Fox & Hounds 'at home' meals and other items like tarts, sausage rolls and focaccia from our online shop.
Delicious meals to cook at home all prepared by James to the high standards you would expect from the Fox & Hounds. Choose from Fox & Hounds favourites such as seasonal soup, pies, curry, desserts & weekly changing specials. When you collect your order you can also stock up on Brindisa deli items, store cupboard treats and wine & beer from The Fox Shop.
Our simple but sophisticated menu features creative seasonal food with fresh ingredients prepared with rustic Italian and French influences. We are renowned for our Sunday Lunches which have been voted by Observer Food Monthly readers as finalists for the Best Sunday Lunch. The menu changes regularly and features light dishes such as Crab Taco with mango salsa and hand rolled pasta with clams, to Swaledale Lamb Rump and Old Spot Pork Loin.
The Fox & Hounds has been independently owned and run by James and Bianca Rix since 2004. James previously worked alongside Michelin-star chefs Gary Rhodes and Alastair Little, and was head chef at Tom Conran's The Cow in Notting Hill. James and Bianca met at school and so have been in partnership for even longer than they've been in business - as their almost telepathic understanding of each other demonstrates!.

I booked Sunday lunch here to celebrate my wife’s birthday and whilst the experience was - as Sunday lunches in decent village pubs go - very nice, I think I had perhaps overestimated how fancy the occasion would be, based mostly on the abundance of ‘Michelin’ based wording on the website.
The pub itself was fine and the food was great, if a little unimaginative for the level it claims to be - very limited choice for vegetarians. The service was ok - staff, whilst very pleasant, seemed generally a little uninformed about the menu and certainly didn’t seem particularly encouraged to bring

Wowsers! My wife and I went to the Fox & Hounds last Sunday and had an amazing meal. My first time back there in twenty or so years, and now I wish we'd gone much sooner.
Three courses of the most tasty food going for a really great price, backed up by warm service and a feel good atmosphere. The short horn beef for two as the main was out of this world. Simply the best beef I have had eating out in this country.

We visited The Fox & Hounds for a wedding reception on the 7th August. I can categorically say this is the best venue I have been to, to celebrate such an important occasion. The venue was perfect, the food was amazing and the staff have to be the happiest friendliest staff I've experienced, and they stayed that way until the end of the night. Thank you for helping make my nephew's wedding such a lovely occasion

We had a great meal on Saturday. The squid dish and the lobster tagliatelle dish were both amazing. The mussels and then the steak for my husband were first class. Great drinks and service too. We love this place and the shop is great.We travel for an hour to get here, but it is really worth it. Thank You.x

We had our wedding reception at the fox and hounds on the 6th March. It was a fantastic day, made even better by the food and service they provided. We honestly could not recommend them enough for wedding/… private functions. We will also be returning customers due to the great food and service they do on a day to day. Thank you very much Bianca and James for making our day so great!

Had a lovely lunch for 2 at the Fox & Hounds yesterday (Sunday 20 October 2019) - great food, with a good range from traditional Sunday lunch to proper 'fine-dining'. Relaxed atmosphere in simple but tasteful… surroundings, and excellent / friendly service from Sharon. All very reasonably priced considering the quality too. Not our first time here, a re-discovered gem - will definitely be retuning soon. 😋😋

The food is AMAZING!! My partner and I stumbled across this gorgeous venue earlier today and I simply cannot fault it. He had the pork & venison terrine and I had the goat's cheese & walnut salad to start. Then the chateaubriand for our main, then cheesecake and fig & almond tart. Absolutely superb. Will definitely return. 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
