Matt was first trained in France in a private chateau in the dordogne. He came back to the UK wanting a new environment. Worked his way up through rosetted and high end restaurants in hertfordshire. Newly promoted from sous chef here with us at The Wellington, he wants to go with a new direction with a more upmarket style of street food, mixed with a few classics and fresh, vibrant dishes.

So disappointed for the third time of going. The menu had lovely looking dishes on it and delivered cheaper ingredients to make up their profit.
Small portions and unfortunately not good value for money.
Not going back again and disappointed that the live music on new year's Eve stopped at 11pm and then nothing until midnight. So we went home were we should have stayed from the off savings £64.95 each for a less than average meal.

Nice modern and comfortable vibe in The Wellington. Nicely cooked food from the grill. (I gave this 5 stars on my first visit)
Since my last review, I have been compelled to downgrade my previous review. I ate at the Wellington for three nights in a row. The quality of the half chicken on the first night and Ribeye steak on the second night was excellent, both, cooked perfectly. However, on my last night, I made the mistake of ordering the buttermilk chicken burger, the first of which I sent back because it had one very small piece of chicken breast in it and just a bit of mayonnaise. Very poor

Absolutely gutted. Moved to a village nearby & I couldn’t wait to try their food. We arrived on Sunday a table of 3, ordered 3 roasts however when they arrived everything was very cold. Sent it back, when it did come back it just wasn’t great! Beef was well done, not much vegetables, gravy was watery just overall not great. There was a large party next to us which we took into consideration but unfortunately the food wasn’t up to scratch!
The staff were great & the decor is lovely.

Amazing Pub-Restaurant, great location, smart and quick service, lovely staff.
The food is absolutely superb, highly recommended the "Special Of The Day" also their variety of desserts. They still following all the sanitary protocols and the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.

Nearly 7 months pregnant and have been CRAVING ribs for a couple of weeks now. The husband was searching for a decent takeaway but no luck - everyone seemed to have simplified their menus due to lockdown. On a… walk today I happened to see The Wellington did takeaway and they did ribs! Ordered them as soon as I got home. The food was well packaged, delivered promptly, reasonably priced and absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for making this expectant mum very happy...
