Services
The firm started as a Garage, Motor Hirer, Taxi and Ambulances. In those days, miners paid a penny a week to have an ambulance stationed outside every pit head. In the event of an accident these would ensure swift transfer to the local hospital. Jimmy also bought a Rolls Royce hearse and started to hire out this and other cars to Undertakers in the locality.
Any death, whether expected or sudden, has its own spectrum of emotions and reactions which we as individuals experience differently. First and foremost, we are here to help. There is no right or wrong time to call, we can assist before, immediately after or when you are ready following a bereavement.
If a family's finances are limited, Brodies will do our utmost to supply a fitting service within those limitations. For some qualifying families, there may be government help available, the Funeral Support Payment & the Bereavement Support Payment. The payment is available to people in Scotland that require support to meet the costs of a funeral.

Our plans are completely bespoke to us here at Brodies and catered to suit each clients indiviudal wishes and budget.
From the early 1990's, our stones have been produced by expert artists and craftsmen, skilled in creating unique memorials that reflect the people they commemorate. All of our memorials are produced from granite which is renowned for its hardiness and low maintenance, a necessity when out in the Scottish weather.
