At Holy Family we aim to offer a high quality history education that inspires pupils' curiosity about the past. This will equip them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement. We aim for our history curriculum to help pupils to appreciate the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups.

Children will gain a sense of their own identity within a social, po0litcal, cultural and economic background. At Holy Family, we are teaching the National Curriculum; studying a range of historical periods, such as the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, the Romans, Saxons and Vikings and the Tudors.

The Rosary Trust was set up in liaison with all the catholic headteachers, both primary and secondary, in the mid and north Essex Deaneries. It is a flat MAT which means that are schools are equal and there is no CEO. The name Rosary Trust was chosen as we are all on a journey through life and follow in Christ's footsteps.

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision and I hope that the information contained within this website will assist you. Holy Family is a school where we all work together to give the best possible start in school life for each child. Our Mission Statement below is at the heart of all we do.
At HFS our Mission Statement of 'Living, Loving, Learning Together' underpins our whole school community. Gospel values run through daily life. We want our children to thrive in the 21st century as educated and well-adjusted individuals, who also understand and care for the environment.

We want them to be kind and value others, confident, resilient, collaborative, and always to be developing their own capacity for self-directed learning and thought. To be able to persevere. We use the scheme of work "Come and See". Religious Education of our pupils not only imparts knowledge as the pupils learn about their Faith, but also deepens their relationship and friendship with God.
HFS believes that art is a vital part of children's education and that for children to be well-informed. It is important that they should have a bank of knowledge about art and how it has influenced the world, and what links it has with other subjects. While at HFS children will learn how to identify key pieces of art and their artists (from a variety of cultures and times).
