Games in the winter tend to be played over 9 holes, but in the summer season 18 hole games are also arranged. Games are a mix of Stableford and stroke play with opportunities for less formal competitions amongst the members such as captain's team v secretary's team. As members of a Municipal course some of us are members of the Merseyside Ladies Municipal Golf Championship Association, and as such we play each year in the Municipal Championship.

We elected Cathy Ryder as our Madame President in 2018. Cathy has been a member of Warren Ladies since 1995; attaining a handicap of 28 she became an excellent player who could be relied upon to support the club in many ways. As our Secretary she has gradually increased her role to be doing many and various tasks in a totally reliable and largely unsung way.
Your stroke allowance is worked out by taking your handicap away from 36. This gives you the number of holes you receive one stroke on. The rest you get two strokes. Example: If your handicap is 30. 36 minus 30 = 6, therefore you get one stroke on the 6 easiest holes / that is holes stroke index 13 to 18, and two strokes on holes stroke index 1 to 12 (24+6=30).
England Golf will be providing posters and videos to help to introduce members to the new system. You will hear a number of new terms such as Handicap Index, Slope Rating and Course Rating. Please don't be alarmed! Put simply, your Handicap Index is calculated from your best eight scores from your last 20.
