We went in last minute and thought we would be turned away. The gentleman that met us at the door couldn't have been more hospitable. He informed us as long as we were out within the hour he could accommodate us as he had a reservation for 7.30. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was nice. It was just lovely to get out for a meal. I'd recommend The Cellar to anyone .

Booked for Sunday 31st Oct on website. Only table available at 7pm. We took the booking. When we arrived the restaurant was empty. No other customers arrived when we were there. I wanted to order the crab claws as a starter and the lemon sole for mains. Neither were available and definitely no ambiance 😫😫. Our bill was £80. The food was VERY… MEDIOCRE and felt like it was just thrown together last minute! When going to pay bill we asked the woman,’Do you think our food was worth £80?’. Her reply was ‘it’s just the same as always’

The food was really good, but was not impressed that there was only 1.5 hours on the table. The main didn't arrive until nearly 1 hour in. Just before we were asked to leave, we were asked if we wanted the… dessert menu lol. There was no mention of the 1.5 hours deadline as far as we could see when booking online. The icing on the cake when they approached the couple behind us to tell them the same thing when they were eating their main course lol. Then offered them the dessert menu lol!!! I would have expected more from Chris and his team. Very disappointing. 😔

We were delighted and enjoyed both a main meal and our dessert. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Ballycastle. You will not be disappointed!

Great lobster and seafood. They had a fruits de mer starter that was awesome.
The Surf and Turf comes with half a lobster and is amazing. However, be aware that the fillet with this comes as thin slices-it is delicious nonetheless.
Avoid the champ, it is the first time in Ireland I've ever had terrible champ; lumpy, underseasoned and lacking butter.
Otherwise, a great experience in a slightly hidden location on the diamond.

Just dropped in at 5.45, but all tables were booked from 7pm. We were welcomed in, staff were very polite, I had the sticky chicken, wife had the duck. Both meals were lovely, not too long a wait dealt with very efficiently. Good price. The place was quite busy, but staff were just,,,, so. nice atmosphere, I would certainly recommend.

Certainly the BEST kept secret of the area!
Beautiful, quirky, deliciously tasty and perfectly made food.
Accommodated our rather large party at very short notice this evening.
