Loch Leven's Larder
Our play-park is open but some areas are restricted as we undertake work in our new Sensory Garden. We allow dogs into our Canopy Cafe but only allow service dogs are permitted inside the Larder. Our beautiful setting right on the Loch Leven Heritage Trail and close to the historic town of Kinross makes for a wonderful day out.

So come and visit us - explore our well-stocked shop and enjoy the great outdoors. Situated at the heart of our family-run vegetable farm, we are passionate about traceability, provenance and seasonality. Because of this, we use as much local produce in our food as possible. This starts with vegetables we've grown in our own fields and includes other produce from the many artisan makers in our local area and the rest of Scotland.
Services
We took over the running of the farm in 2002 and we're proud to be the 3rd generation of the family to farm this land, since Arthur and Agnes Braid were given tenancy when they married in 1934. Soon we were supplying supermarkets and wholesale markets in Glasgow, Preston and Newcastle. Every time we brought in a harvest, we'd watch lorries full of our vegetables start their journeys across the UK.
The Larder is situated on the North side of Loch Leven, just ten minutes from the historic town of Kinross and within easy hitting distance from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. We are are popular stop-off point for cyclists, from family groups enjoying a traffic-free cycle on the heritage trail to road cyclists training for the Kinross Sportive. 9am - Meet in our Larder Caf for a hearty breakfast. Whether you like the full works (our farmer's breakfast), something lighter (smashed avocado on sourdough) or can't resist something sweeter (like our pancakes with berry compote), there will be something to tempt you.

10.30am - Pack up the perfect picnic from our Greenhouse Caf (chose from our ever-changing selection of sandwiches & salads, all made by our chefs) and a few deli treats (cheese, olives, cold meat and more) to enjoy out on the trail.11am - Set off on the 21km nature trail, which is suitable for wheelchair users, bikes and walkers of all abilities.
We specialise in European gifts which you won't find elsewhere in the UK and stock design-led Scottish gifts and toiletries. We have a range of organic toiletries, from artisan producers such as Meraki, Siabann and Sense of Arran Sense of Scotland. Here on holiday? You'll enjoy our range of design-led Scottish gifts from makers such as Gillian Kyle, the Slate Company and local pottery, JS Ceramics.

Very slow service in the takeaway area, despite having 4 staff on making coffees and sandwiches. Initially wanted to sit in the cafe but it was too busy (wasn't full tables) but may have been due to reduced staff which wasn't reflected in the takeaway! which took 40 minutes to get a tea, coffee & 2 panini's (which we ended up not having warmed up because they said it would be another 20min wait!)

Nice venue for lunch, relaxed atmosphere and the staff are a highlight. Polite, friendly and attentive.
Service was really quick. The baked potato was piping hot from the first to last nite. The menu is a bit… limited as is the breakfast menu, which is also a bit pricey.
The menu at the takeaway has a greater variety of lunch options. The food section and gift shop are well stocked with good choices, again on the pricey side but I did buy three meals which I'm looking forward to trying.
The decor indoors and the surroundings outdoors are beautiful and the play park is a bonus. The view over

Nice place and nice location but poor variety of cakes, etc. (There were quite a few listed on the chalk board but almost everything was gone by 3pm.) Scones okay but a bit biscuity and lack the "soda" taste of a good scone. The shop is very like these other "country" or "farm" shops. There's a nice selection of cheeses. I can't understand why so much produce wasn't local, e.g. the bread flour comes from Oxfordshire (branded Wessex).

A fabulous place with views overlooking Loch Leven. The larder is amazingly big with a wide range of food, drinks and homeware including pet stuff and fine chocolates. The cafe has an inside and an outside under a massive white canopy. Ornate white metal tables and chairs to the front section outside. Lunch was lovely. No complaints. There is also a large grass area with picnic benches and a kids play area. Ice cream shop also outside next to the cafe. Big car park with disabled parking. Dogs allowed in cafe (definitely under canopy, unsure about inside) Would definitely return if in the area.

I came here for brunch and the French toast with bacon was lovely!
Very impressed by the shop. I bought some black garlic butter and it was incredible. Everything I bought has been delicious.
I can't wait to swing by again for treats. I really recommend the fudge donuts and they're bread dips.

This is a gem on the shores of Loch Leven. The views from this place, inside and outside, are amazing and when the sun is out on a warm summers day, a stop by for a meal and drink should be in the cards. The Loch Leven natural trail is passing this place and a detour is easy.
There is plenty of parking space, inside and outside seating, as well as a very well equipped Farm Shop. It's heaven for locals and tourists alike. All you can get, in one place.
Must confess I went on a wee shopping spree as well as enjoying a 2.5 hour lunch break. It's quite amazing that they did not ask us

I'm not sure why this has such low ratings on Yelp! This place was delicious! I mean its a farmshop/cafe so its gonna be a bit more expensive... but its worth every bite because its really not that much more then a latte or piece of cake from starbucks... and this is all locally made! The farm shop was super cute and the view is amazing! looking right over Loch Leven. Beautiful .
We got a thing that wasn't a afternoon tea, but thats like a shared dessert plate with tea for two. We got lovely shortbread, fresh vanilla cream and berries (husband ate that) a coconut chocolate trifel, yummy

Nice setting and lovely for a wee browse around, although very expensive for everything. Feel that the lay out of the tables could be better in the restaurant as there are a few huge tables that take up so much space when there are people standing waiting for tables it seems such a waste of space. Also the soup was lovely but the brownies were very dry and disappointing. They are busy but there really is a lack of competition as there are no coffee shops close by for visitors to choose between and to visit there, unless you live local, you are having a day out so you have to eat there. Very beautiful shop, but so expensive.

The deli is very nice, although vastly overpriced.

However, a few of the cheeses were incorrectly labelled with country of origin. For example, Picos Blue was labelled as French, when it is in fact Spanish. I pointed this out to the gentleman on the counter, who I have to say was charming and very helpful, and assured me who would advise the owner, but on a later visit, all the labelling remained unchanged.

Very disappointing, and the reason why we've never been back
