Esklets Playgroup
We are a small, friendly setting offering a caring, nurturing environment in the country. We aim to provide a homely environment in which each child is valued for themselves and helped to develop to their full potential. We cater for children aged 18 months -5 years and offer funded places for 2,3 and 4 year olds.

Esklets delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our purpose-built classroom is sited within a very large outdoor area. Our garden contains a mud kitchen, digging area, 'jungle', raised beds and lawn. The playground contains an 'all weather sandpit', junk construction area, sensory area, water play, woodwork, role-play sheds and space to ride bikes and run freely.
Services
All children attending our setting have the right to learn and develop to their full potential, in a stimulating environment in which they feel happy, safe, secure and able to fully engage in their learning. To do this they need free access to a stimulating environment both inside and outside where they can learn through play and real experiences supported by caring adults who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Esklets occupies a quiet site tucked away in the village of Danby. We have a classroom which is warm and inviting, offering all the resources needed to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for your child. We also provide a wonderful outside area comprising an all weather playground and a large garden.
All three and four-year-olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education and childcare each week for 38 weeks of the year. Many two-year-olds are also eligible. These places are offered by Esklets Preschool. In 2018 the Government ended the Childcare Vouchers scheme and replaced it with a new scheme called Tax-Free Childcare.
Esklets preschool is a registered charity and as such is governed by a committee of trustees. All parents of children attending the group are eligible to be members of the committee. As the group is a charity it is required to be run in accordance with a charitable constitution which requires the formation of a parent committee who are, in effect, the trustees of the group.
Many of our activities are messy and although aprons are worn clothes may get marked. Therefore please do not send children in 'best clothes' or clothes which may not be easily washed. We operate a 'library system' by which children can take home a book from our book corner to share with an adult at home.
