We provide early years care for children aged between 18 months and 5 years, through out the academic year, 8:30am-5:30pm. Our setting is run by a voluntary committee who all work alongside highly qualified early years trained practitioners. In addition to this, all members of staff have paediatric first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding training, ensuring parents and carers can be confident in the care that we provide.
Services
Provide a warm, friendly and relaxed pre-school environment where children and families feel at ease. Provide a wide variety of play activities and experiences for the children developed within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS framework). We want children to value the rights and entitlements of others and have interest in the world around them.
All North Yorkshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND.) They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, whatever their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.

The Local Authority publishes its Local Offer which provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place. Our setting is run by a voluntary committee who all work alongside highly qualified early years trained practitioners.
1:15-1:45 We use this time to complete planned activities which further the children's learning and development. 3:15-3:30 Some of the children go home at this point so it is a hand over time. The children are encouraged to have a story with one adult whilst the other provides feedback. 4:30-5:30 The children will have child led time with adult support and encouragement until it is home time.
We have 6 meals that we offer weekly so that we can ensure that the children do not eat the same meals on the same days weekly. For example Day 1 will be on Monday one week but the next week be on Day 2. This means that if you child only attends one day a week, they will not receive the same foods every week.
At Fylingdales Preschool we are excited to promote our online 'Learning Journals' for each individual child through a piece of educational software called 'Tapestry'. Parents and carers receive an email telling you when a new observation or piece of work is available for you to view. This will enable parents to follow their child's progress closely and can reflect upon achievements with their child.
