Time To Talk West Berkshire
Everyone has mental health & just like physical health it changes from day to day & many things can affect our mental/emotional health. It is estimated that 3/4 of medically diagnosable mental health conditions emerge by the age of 24. Emotional difficulties such as anxiety & depression have become the most prevalent type of mental health condition experienced by 5-19 year olds.

At Time to Talk we are so lucky to have a wonderful group of Young Ambassadors who are involved with our charity and who have allowed us to share their creative contributions in this newsletter. We release a new newsletter every month to keep you up to date on all the latest from our Young Ambassadors.
Services
Our aim as a charity is to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people aged 11-25 in West Berkshire. We do this primarily through our free, at the point of delivery, counselling services at Broadway House and in local schools and GP surgeries. Last but not least, we work very closely with relevant local organisations and signpost people to other services, information and support where appropriate.
What is counselling? Counselling is a helpful private conversation with a trained listener. Together you will talk through your issues and come up with new options, find new ways of looking at things or get new skills to help you move forward in your life. At Time to Talk West Berkshire we offer up to 12 weekly 50 minute sessions with the same counsellor at the same time and in the same place each week.
We are being encouraged to look after our physical health and take precautions to keep ourselves well and in the same way we can also look after our mental health and take precautions to keep ourselves healthy. We may need to adapt our usual methods of self-care but in the same way that we will continue to clean our teeth and brush our hair, we can continue to follow the ABC of mental health.
Time to Talk West Berkshire supports over 500 young people in need each year with over 5,000 free counselling sessions. Referrals to our service have increase by over 50% in the past two years and demand continues to rise. We receive no government funding. All of our costs are raised through Service Level Agreements, contracts, grants and donations.
