Bramham Therapy
We are offering therapy sessions face-to-face and online/phone (we currently have a waiting list for our counselling services). Call (please leave a voicemail) or email and our professional counsellor, Mel Dundas, will contact you in confidence by the next working day to discuss your requirements. Almost all of our therapists are currently working remotely (phone and/or video link).

We can help you by arranging a first session with the most suitable member of our therapy team. We are a large team of highly qualified and experienced professionals. All our therapists have to meet our joining criteria, are fully insured, belong to a professional body and are committed to ongoing professional development.

Bramham Therapy specialises in Counselling and Psychotherapy for children, individual adults and couples. Therapy can be particularly helpful for a wide range of emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, loss, low self worth, relationship problems and many other life challenges. Therapy helps a person to gain a deeper awareness, understanding and acceptance of themselves.
Psychotherapy/Counselling is the practice of understanding and resolving emotional problems, relationship difficulties and life challenges through talking in a confidential and impartial setting. The therapist helps to shed new light on these experiences so that you can gain a better understanding of yourself and of the situation, and to arrive at your own solutions for living in a more satisfying way.
Each person is engaged in a unique journey through life, in search of his or her own meaning and purpose. The numerous challenges along the way can sometimes leave people feeling distressed and unable to cope; and at other times stuck or at a difficult crossroads. Counselling and psychotherapy offer help for all kinds of emotional problems, such as depression, loss, anxiety and confusion.
Therapy provides a sanctuary in which to explore and uncover one's feeling that may have lain dormant or hidden. One of the main objectives is to gain a deeper awareness, understanding and acceptance of oneself. The relationship with the therapist offers a facilitative and confidential environment, where a person can begin to clarify and address their difficulties, gain insight and work towards meaningful change.
The huge number of 'models' of therapy available can be very confusing and misleading for the lay person, and even for those in the profession! What is probably more important to a successful therapeutic outcome is.

Additionally, a reputable therapist will have undergone extensive training (which should be at least 3 years in duration and include lengthy personal therapy); be registered or accredited with one of the main UK governing bodies (see below), and will have acquired clinical and life experience.For the client, it is important to have a motivation for change, a willingness to trust the process and to be open to self-exploration.
