Welcome to Yoredale House situated, in Aysgarth, in the heart of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The park plays host to The Pennine Way, Coast to Coast Walk, The Dales Way and The Herriot Way, made famous by the books of James Herriot and the television program 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
The famous Aysgarth Falls are a stones throw from our guest house, as is the imposing church of St Andrews which has the largest churchyard in England. Aysgarths Edwardian Rock Garden at the western end of the village is well worth a visit after a busy day of walking the nearby fells. Our rooms Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough are named after the Three Peaks of the National Park.

What an unfriendly welcome. We planned to have a bike ride and stop here afterwards for a coffee and a cake. Walked in and explained our plan to see if we could use the loo, no smile, just an awkward nod. I tried to make small talk with the guy behind the bar and I also pulled his teeth out, or so it seemed. We ended up getting a couple of expressos and also asked for a single shot one topped up to dbl (water) quantities. This was far too hard for the 'barista' to comprehend. Needless to say I chose not to say anything. Thankfully we fulfilled our promise to be patrons so we could change our plans
