We are an independent restaurant with rooms in the heart of Shipston on Stour, a historic market town on the edge of the Cotswolds, fifteen minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon. Our restaurant and bar are open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, tea, coffee, cake and cocktails. We serve brunch on Saturdays, and our Sunday roast was named by Tom Parker Bowles in the Mail on Sunday as one of the 50 best in the UK.
We have five luxurious bedrooms, described as "six-star havens" by The Sunday Times, who named us one of Britain's Top 100 Hotels. Cond Nast Traveller have called us one of the best restaurants with rooms in Britain. One of the UK's "most exciting restaurant with rooms" - "This is intended to be a neighbourhood restaurant where locals pop in for brunch or get dressed up for supper on a Saturday night, but of course it draws city dwellers too.

Services
Our Pink Room overlooks the Market Square, with floor-to ceiling Georgian windows with original 18th-century shutters. It has a super-king-size bed with a deep Hypnos mattress and Egyptian cotton sheets, and is stocked with everything you need for tea and coffee, plus a bar tray laden with local spirits, and scrabble, books, and playing cards.
Our Georgian building is made up of characterful original interconnecting rooms, which can be hired individually for smaller parties, or taken together as one magnificent space. The originality and flexibility of our restaurant and bar allows us to cater for seated lunches and dinners, drinks parties, receptions, wedding breakfasts, baby showers, charity events and breakfast meetings.
Halfway between Stratford-upon-Avon and Chipping Norton is the quaint market town of Shipston-on-Stour - and one of its grand Georgian townhouses is now The Bower House, updated with huge attention to detail, lavished on both the food and the accommodation. Downstairs, for the former, it's all beetroot carpaccio and scallops (the Sunday lunch gets rave reviews, too).
The Bower House is in Shipston on Stour, a historic Warwickshire market town on the edge of the Cotswolds. We are 15 minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon, 50 minutes from Oxford, an hour from Birmingham, and one hour and 45 minutes from London. Our post code for SatNav is CV36 4AG. Our nearest stations are Moreton-in-Marsh, which is a 10 minute drive from us, and Banbury, which is a 30 minute drive.

Really looked forward to visiting this place but sadly won't be returnung after first and only visit. We decided to go for breakfast and were so disappointed, we had higher expectations after restaurant claiming to have Michelin stars! We waited for over 30min for the breakfast to arrive, when finally served the food was only slightly warm. Sausages barely cooked, same case with bacon, and snotty eggs. The veggie option could do with veggie sausage and both plates had no harsh browns. I am sorry but I do expect so much more for £12 per plate. In short, long wait, cold food and not the greatest

Some of the best food I've eaten in Cotswold so far! Great menu, exciting flavours and perfectly cooked food. Every dish was delicious and moorish. Knockout dishes were the'N'duja Scotched Egg', perfect, not overpowering with N'duja, but just enough to give the sausage meat more flavour and heat, and with that runny egg Centre, so good! The other dish I loved was the White Chicken, you always hear on Masterchef how they perfectly cooked the chicken breast and have a bit of a moment over it, well this was one of those moments. Price wise, you're looking at the mid to higher cost bracket for the

Stayed 2 nights here in room 4 and it was absolutely lovely, spacious, and clean. The staff were very friendly especially Jemima. Definately recommend the resturant not just for the delicious breakfast (pancakes, bacon and maple syrup/full english), but the great meal we had in the evening. All in all a relaxing couple of days. Definately will be booking again in the future.

Paul and the team gave the best customer service we've been on the receiving end of for an incredibly long time - attention to detail, remembered our names, asked us how our dinner was when we'd gone out the night previously. Breakfast was faultless, room was lovely and wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks for a great stay and the fab margaritas!! :D
