All pre-school settings in England follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum and comply with the Statutory Framework. The curriculum is divided into three Prime areas of development for younger children and an additional 4 areas of development for children aged from 3 years. Children are encouraged to build friendships with other children and adults.

Through this they practice and develop skills of taking turns, caring, helping, working together and problem solving. Each week we give children responsibility for feeding the fish, watering the plants, helping at lunch time and other 'tasks' designed to support the development of their self confidence and self esteem.
Services
Chestnuts aims to provide children with opportunities that will support and promote their development through the Early Years Foundation Stage in a safe, stimulating and caring environment that embodies our philosophy of child-centred, inclusive practice. All children need a wide range of activities and experiences that can be planned and tailored to their stage of development and individual needs.
As our daughter was so young (6 months), we were nervous about how she would cope with nursery, initially. We couldn't be more delighted with how the last 4 months have gone. She is alert, energetic and full of enthusiasm for anything and everything. Our daughter absolutely loves the team at Chestnuts and every week we witness a new skill of some kind in her development.
All children aged 3 & 4 years are entitled to up to fifteen hours per week of nursery education funding from the term after the child's third birthday. The Government funding is intended to deliver 15 or 30 hours a week of free, high quality, flexible childcare. It is not intended to cover the costs of meals, other consumables, additional hours or additional activities.
We ask that children come dressed in loose comfortable clothing that they will be able to manage themselves. Children will be engaged in 'messy' play. We have aprons and paint shirts available but children will not be prevented from messy play if they don't want to wear one. We will support children through toilet training and keep spare clothing in case of accidents.
It is difficult to put into words the impact Chestnuts TW1 has had on our daughter, Luna, and us as a family; difficult simply because there is so much to say. At every stage of her life at Chestnuts TW1 Luna has had the most positive experience and we have seen her thrive and grow in ways we never would have imagined.
