Compound Strength & Conditioning is an independent functional fitness gym based in Ruddington, Nottingham. Owned and run by three local and passionate coaches, Compound has expanded from a small strength & conditioning gym to become the home of Nottingham Weightlifting Club and also has a brand new sister gym: Second Space.

Compound is so much more than just another gym; it's a community, a family, an escape. Compound is an independent gym; owned and run by 3 experienced, passionate and local coaches. We offer an inclusive program which is designed to meet the needs of every individual that trains with us.
Built around personal training in a group environment, our classes are capped at 15 members which means you can expect to receive personalised coaching and advice in every class.Not only does our small class environment and researched programming set us apart, we feel that our community is one of a kind.

Nottingham Weightlifting Club is affiliated to the British Weightlifting Association and runs from Compound Strength & Conditioning three times per week. The three sessions are coached by our British Weightlifting certified trainers. As a sport Olympic Weightlifting consists of attempting two maximal lifts: the snatch and the clean & jerk.
It's taken us a good few years to find the perfect team, but we're now proud to say that we have an incredible choice of personal trainers available at Compound. Whether your goal is fat loss, muscle gain, pre/post natal fitness, sports performance or lifestyle based we can help. Coaching with The Nutrition Plan is designed to fit your lifestyle and goals. All the accountability, inspiration and support you need to achieve the results that you dream about. We have mentors for lots of things in life; if you wanted financial advice you would seek an advisor, if you wanted to learn to play an instrument you would find a teacher.
As well as running our Ruddington based facility, we also take on corporate clients to help make health & fitness a priority in the workplace! We have all spent various periods of our lives in desk based jobs, and quickly learnt the implications of that on our health, mood, and lifestyle.
We're passionate about making fitness and wellbeing a priority in workplaces and love to encourage busy people to take a few minutes away from their desk to look after themselves, which ultimately results in increased productivity and happiness.Whether it's mindfullness, yoga, a high energy gym class, a personal training session, or a little extra attention to nutrition - the smallest things can make a huge difference.

When I joined compound I was completely new to weightlifting and functional fitness so was a bit anxious at first. However, from my very first taster session the coaches and other members were really supportive and made me feel welcome and capable of progressing. This support and feeling of community is unlike anything I've experienced at other gyms. The way the sessions are structured also make it possible to scale the exercise to your level which means that both beginners like myself or experienced members get just as much benefit from each session.

I would highly recommend Compound S&C to anyone and everyone, whether they've never picked up a weight or they have been lifting for years! I loved feeling like part of a community, where everyone strives for PB's together.. it makes them all the more rewarding (especially at 6:30am!). The coaches are brilliant, the workouts are always challenging and varied, and it's honestly the most fun I've ever had in a gym. I hate that I am moving away, but I know whoever takes my spot will get everything they want from being part of the team, and more. Fingers crossed I will find another gym which is half

Compound is the best gym I’ve ever been to. The coaches are so friendly, motivational and knowledgeable. They make sure that, no matter how challenging the programme, everyone is always having fun. The gym community is incredibly welcoming and everyone supports each other towards their fitness goals. After training at Compound for 18 months, I am the strongest I’ve ever been and I have so much more energy! Great people, great atmosphere, great training. I really couldn’t ask for more!

Me and my husband were lucky enough to find Compound about a year ago and without a doubt this is the best gym we’ve trained at. Great coaches, great community, they make you feel welcome and support you everyday. It is great for everyone, doesn’t matter your fitness level. If still thinking about it, just make yourself a favor and take the tester class! You won’t regret it!

Took me a while to find a gym like this, but it was well worth the wait. I love the fact the classes are so well planned and each one is always very different. Currently, I only have time to do 2 classes per week, but by the end of each week I feel I have exercised the whole body. The 3 coaches are excellent, and because the class numbers are small, you get a lot of personal instruction to improve your technique and performance. Since joining 3 months ago, I have lost weight and improved overall body tone and strength. Most important, I feel a lot better in myself and look forward to training each

I have been training at compound for over 18 months now. It's a great friendly and inclusive environment to train in and everything can be done to your own individual fitness level. The 3 coaches are very knowledgable and provide constant feedback and tips as you train to improve technique and performance. I also train at the weightlifting sessions and have become so much more consistent with my lifts while also improving my technique immensely. Fantastic place!
