The Bar at Frocester is a classic bar well-known for its friendly atmosphere and all around good times. The wood decor, alongside the wood burners and cosy seating offers a warm and welcoming ambiance to all guests. On the bar we have 5 cask ales on at all times, serving only the best quality real ales, our guest ale program is something that encompasses ales from far and wide, not forgetting local brewery's such as Stroud, Uley, Wickwar, Gloucester.

We all know that standard of your draught cider and lager are a known barometer of an outlet's quality, so with this in mind we have installed the new 'smart dispense system' which means each time you order cider and lager you will receive a perfect fresh pint, at the perfect temperature - so on a hot summers day your refreshing pint with be served between 2 - 4C every time.

We dined at The George on a Sunday evening when most eateries are closed. We had a very warm welcome from the staff. We were offered the full menu. The food was very good quality and very nicely prepared. Thank you.

Went to the George for lunch yesterday with the family, absolutely fantastic 👏 the food was brilliant, I'm vegan and they catered for me with a delicious main course and dessert.

Always good food here and can generally get a table in the bar when lots of other places are fully booked. They didn’t do a check back during the meal though and the desserts seems to have increased in price to £8 each which is a bit extreme in my opinion.

Superb rooms, welcoming staff, fabulous food, free parking, and very accommodating on the morning of my daughter's wedding when hairdresser and makeup artist needed to arrive at 6am. Have booked for Sunday lunch soon and maybe a stay sometime in the future.

I was treated to a belated birthday lunch here and it was lovely. Food was delicious, with a good choice (I think the platter of mini desserts is just right for sharing after the generous portions of the main courses). Tasteful surroundings, calm and helpful staff made it a relaxing atmosphere.

Really nice food. Excellent service and nice atmosphere. Beautiful place with a large beer garden. If you're on a budget though just stick to the drinks, having said that, the extra money is well worth expense. Not overly expensive, there are cheaper places to eat. But as the old saying goes 'you get what you pay for'.

The George at Frocester is great in every way... food, service, rooms... we can’t fault it!
I stayed here the day before and after my wedding day. The room we stayed in was super comfortable and lovely. It was very relaxing and it felt like we were on holiday. The breakfast is yummy too!
The staff are absolutely lovely! We are locals here and do come regularly for the food and drink. One of my favourite places! Just love it! 👍🏽

This is a more upmarket Gastro pub. A little more pricey that other pubs but with a more varied menu and great tasting food. We will definitely return again. Friendly staff & good service.

I haven’t stopped raving about this place since I stayed at the hotel this week. It’s very rare to find such a well run establishment. The staff are so good that everything runs so smoothly. The rooms are… comfy, staff friendly and professional and the food is fantastic. Great well kept beers. All in a lovely old building. Perfect.

Just back from an absolutely amazing stay at the Frocester , a late 20th Wedding anniversary celebration for Hubby and Me. Our room was stunning, very spacious, bed was huge, the bathroom was spectacular. The deep bath was lush. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious, every course tasted divine and was well presented and generous portions.… Breakfast was also superb,freshly cooked to order and homemade bread. A real find. We were driving to Tetbury and just stopped for dinner. A hotel, bar and restaurant. Great food, big portions and friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended. Will visit again when I’m in the area.

Now refurbished The Frocester has bedrooms, a bar and pub food including a pleasant courtyard.

It also has a restaurant with ambiance just right for a quiet romantic dinner. We shared a goats cheese starter before enjoying our pork medallions (with a rich creamy sauce) and sea-bass with chorizo.

We'd recommend a glass o Reverend James Original Bitter too.
