The Eastwood Day Nursery (operated by Wollaton Village Day Nurseries Ltd) specialise in child care in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas. Our aim is to provide a secure and happy environment for your child which will enable them to develop to their full potential. Eastwood Day Nursery is part of the family owned, Wollaton Village Day Nurseries Ltd group.
The nursery is situated near to the town centre of Eastwood, bordering Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and within easy reach of the A610 and M1 motorway. It is a two-storey building. Children aged up to five years old are cared for on the ground floor and are grouped according to their age and stage of development with separate rooms for babies, toddlers and 3-5 year olds.

We understand that the framework is not about pushing children yet ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to learn through high quality play to the best of their ability. We strongly believe that children are active learners from birth and that if we provide them with the right environment, support and experiences; it will then in turn encourage their curiosity, imagination and creativity.
These ratios are in line with the Department for Education's Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. We ask all parents to provide an adequate supply of spare clothes, this includes socks, underwear, tops and loose fitting jogging bottoms or trousers. Please remember to label all items including coats with your child's name.
Our baby room is the smallest room in the setting in order to create a home from home environment. It is self-contained meaning that the babies comfortable and familiar environment doesn't need to be disrupted for sleep, mealtimes and nappy changes. The activities and resources are changed regularly to suit the individual needs and interests of the varying ages within the baby room.
Our Toddler room is a much bigger space than the baby room, allowing the fully mobile children to have room to explore a wide range of activities. We have a built-in home corner in which the children have a variety of real objects alongside dolls in order to develop early imagination and communication skills.
Our Pre-school room has lots of learning experiences for the children preparing them for school readiness. We encourage independence allowing the children to have chance to access a wide variety of resources, many natural to support their play and learning. The children have the opportunity to use a range of tools during creative time including scissors, hole punches, tape dispensers and a variety of mark making equipment.
