WOW, decided to splash some cash for a special xmas treat with friends and revisit my Japan experience with some A5 Wagyu. Visited Japan a couple years ago and having to face that nothing had come close to what I had tasted over there, I came across Tom Hixson after a quick google, and boy I was not disappointed, Awesome marbling, fat that was melting just by handling it and that melt in the mouth texture. After being spoilt with this, summer BBQs and steak wont be the same again.

I arrived later than planned today but the staff were very helpful. A lady from Croydon (whose name slips my mind) was very kind and walked me up to the store and warehouse. I can't comment on the quality of the brisket and pork I bought yet but if it is as good as their customer service then I'm sure I will be a returning customer in the future.

Ordered a joint of their “best of British” angus rib eye at over £100 for 2.5kg . Arrived on time however the meat is from slaneys in wexford Ireland and last time i checked Ireland is not in Britain . Its lovely meat dont get me wrong but its exactly the same cut of beef i get from my local meat van at a fraction of the price . I emailed them a week ago and have had no response apart from the email stating i would get a response in 1 day . I would highly recommend not ordering from these as they lie about the origin of the meats and considering they sell a5 Japanese wagu i would not part

Came in today around 7am to buy some meat for myself and most stores were closed.
Hixson was still open. I bought some nice quality meat for very good prices .
Unlike other stores they would just charge you more or not keen to advise you thee guys here were friendly and keen to help.
Will be back again next year .

Very disappointing water-logged smoked back bacon.
On their website Tom Hixson have a description of this product including "superb and unique flavours" and "hung over oak wood chippings for eighteen hours" but no mention of this being imported from a large distributor in Holland. Also, no mention of this product having 9% water added.
The photo I have added here has Hixson on the left and a major UK supermarket own brand premium no water oak smoked on the right. I dried the Hixson bacon in paper towels before cooking and a couple of times during cooking. So much water came out of the Hixson

Top quality meat, decent prices and a great selection of cuts. Have had all sorts of steak, ribs & pork. Favourites have to be the USDA pork ribs and the Picanhas. Looking forward to placing our first Christmas order from Tom Hixson!

Second order from the online shop this week was phenomenal. The beef short ribs we ordered were out of stock but a quick call from Hixson's offering alternative options meant we still received beef ribs and actually got a slight increase in weight, 10/10 for service. The meat was delivered on our selected day and was the perfect cut for going in the smoker for an 8 hour slow cook. We have struggled in the past to get good cuts for the smoker, particularly ribs, from our local butcher and started an online search to get something better. Well, I'm happy to say that we appear to have struck gold

Flavour amazing ! loved it. However it was the thinnest sirloin we have ever had. I should have checked the thickness before ordering from Tom. I will order again and will contact them before ordering, requesting a thicker cut. However if you like a thin Sirloin then this is perfect.

Ordering from them since covid started have to say the meat is of amazing quality and unbelievable taste. Staff are friendly as well and willing to help. I ordered the black market brisket and the Te Mana lamb both excellent. The brisket was a 12 hour cook but turned out amazing. showed some picture highly recommend trying these two meats. Also the Wagyu is amazing as well
