At the Whitstable Osteopathic Practice we take a holistic approach that seeks to treat the whole person, rather than simply concentrating on the most obvious symptoms. Our goal is to help you on your way to good health quickly, safely and gently so that you can restore your sense of wellbeing and live life to its fullest.
We are dedicated to giving our patients the highest possible standard of professional care and service, whatever their age or situation. Situated in Cromwell Road in the heart of Whitstable, we offer gentle, natural healthcare in warm, comfortable, quiet and pleasant surroundings. Principal osteopath Alan Webb has been practising in Kent since 1994.

Services
Alan makes frequent use of Cranial Osteopathy, which involves light touch to the head and body. They will never use drugs or mechanical devices in treatments. Our Practitioners have many years' experience in a range of techniques and will thoroughly assess your situation before deciding upon the right course of action.
The majority of patients at the Practice are adults and the most common complaint we see is back pain. Osteopathy is perhaps most famous for its treatment of this kind of pain, but in truth we see patients with a whole range of problems, from their heads to their toes!
Sometimes this pain is the result of an accident or trauma, sometimes it is caused by repetitive strain, surgery or even dental work and problems can manifest immediately, or lie dormant for many years. We use the gentlest treatment methods that are effective, which means that more often than not we will combine Cranial and Structural technique.

The changes of pregnancy can cause pain and discomfort to any expectant mother. Symptoms may include back, neck or joint pain, as well as other problems such as heartburn, headaches and pelvic pain.
This is often because the spine and skeleton are bearing a greater load, but in late pregnancy the situation can be worsened by the internal hormonal environment, pressure in the abdomen and the strains of juggling pregnancy with other home or career commitments.

All the Osteopaths at Whitstable Osteopathic Practice were trained at the European School of Osteopathy. There we were trained in the treatment of babies and children (Paediatric Osteopathy). We are all fully qualified and experienced in treating them.
Over the years we've worked with the National Childbirth Trust and the Osteopathic Centre for Children - which has links with Great Ormond Street - as well as with local midwives and health visitors. What we do is suitable for children at all stages of development from newborns to older children. As Osteopaths, we understand that the healthy balance of muscles bones and joints is essential to the function of the whole body.
