Stephen Hipkiss graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2002 with a BSc Honours Degree in Osteopathy and a Diploma in Osteopathy. Since graduating he has worked at the Rainham Osteopathic Clinic and at Romney House in Willesborough, Ashford, Kent. Stephen uses a broad range of osteopathic techniques, tailoring each treatment to your individual needs.
These include muscle stretching and massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, as well as gentle cranial and functional techniques (often referred to as cranial osteopathy). Having benefitted from cranial osteopathy in his youth and received basic cranial training at undergraduate level, Stephen has gone on to complete several post graduate courses to develop his skills in this area.

The General Osteopathic Council states that osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of the individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
At your first appointment, Stephen will spend the first few minutes asking you questions about your presenting complaint and how it is affecting you. He will also ask you about any accidents/injuries you may have had as well as a few questions about your medical history including any medications you are taking.
