Saplings Nursery
The youngest of our children are organised into two rooms: babies 4 - 15 months old and older babies 15 months to 2 years. The rooms are named according to the Disney characters from Winnie the Pooh. Younger babies are 'Piglets', older babies are 'Eeyores'. All the staff are qualified to a minimum level 3 in Early Years, hold First Aid and Food Hygiene Certificates.

The 0 - 2 year old staff are highly experienced and are dedicated to the babies in their care and develop high quality relationships with parents. Every baby has their own key carer who will assist them reach their full potential and ensure they are gently integrated with their friends in the room and the wider nursery environment.
Services
Initially this was on a trial basis in Tiggers. As soon as the system goes live to other groups in the nursery and staff have received training on its use, parents will be provided with login access. We always allow at least 6 weeks if your child is new to the setting.

Learning Journals and special books have grown in popularity over the last decade, offering early years settings a way to record the special moments of their children, and to keep parents involved in a partnership as their children blossom and grow.
Childcare Choices brings together all the government childcare offers in one place for the first time. To all our parents, please visit Childcare Choices to determine your eligibility to the offers available for working parents. We guarantee 30 hour funding to parents whose child attends 4 or 5 days a week and variably to children attending 33 hours minimum.
Chickens are the favourites among the children, we first incubated hens way back in 2008. We plan to erect a new walk-in-run to house the hens safely at weekends, early mornings and late afternoons. In our new location, we are visited by Mr Fox, so we have taken the steps to introduce a more secure home for them.
Saplings is a fully inclusive setting able to meet the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities. Staff attend Makaton workshops on a regular basis to enable them to communicate effectively. We have an Equality Named Coordinator, who works closely with Linda to ensure we are fully inclusive, in all aspects of equality.
Please add your comment below and share with us your experience of how you found Saplings to be for your child.
