Services
Youthlife is a registered charity (NIC 105568) and a company limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors. As well as providing free 1:1 Counselling for 120 children each year, we run group work programmes for children and young people of different age groups and experiences. These programmes take place in schools, youth clubs, community venues and in our own centre on Bishop Street.
The WAIN Programme is a five week course offering Primary School Children a gentle first step in exploring feelings about changes in their lives. The WAIN programme takes place in a 'host' Primary School with children attending from various schools in the vicinity. Our counselling service provides the opportunity for young people to look more closely at their lives in a safe, confidential, neutral and non-judgemental environment.
The early days were fraught with many challenges but gradually Youthlife developed a range of programmes to help young people who had experienced bereavement and loss issues. Our first funding was secured from the Western Health & Social Care Trust. Further funding from BBC Children in Need and the Big Lottery enabled the group to develop and expand, securing suitable premises and skilled staff.
Youthlife supports children and young people who have experienced bereavement, loss and seperation. We deliver a range of programmes to children and young people from the age 5 to 25 years.
