I offer confidential counselling or psychotherapy to individuals and clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists. If you are looking for a suitable therapist or supervisor, it is important that you know something of their training, experience and background in the field. I hope this website provides you with the information you need to know about me and the counselling services I have to offer.

I am conveniently based in Darlington which has easy access from Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Bishop Auckland, Durham, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond, Catterick and Barnard castle. If there are further questions regarding my counselling services, you are welcome to e-mail or telephone me using the details on the right.
Services
My initial training as a counsellor was with the Egan Model; a problem solving, cognitive and behavioural approach, with a Humanistic underpinning. I later trained as a Psychosynthesis psychotherapist.

This approach seeks to resolve pain and suffering through the integration and synthesis of the emotional, psychological, physical, spiritual and sexual aspects of what it is to be human and thus to allow the inner potential for joy and fulfilment to arise.Psychotherapy can be a catalyst for profound change as it offers a path for empowerment and leads us towards an experience of our wholeness.
Counselling and psychotherapy are about providing a safe, compassionate and confidential space in which you can explore the issues and inner conflicts that affect your life. Through coming to understand the origins of your difficulties and developing a more empathic relationship with yourself you can grow to face your life with greater confidence, fulfilment and authenticity.
Unpleasant, distressing and sometime overwhelming feelings and experiences can arise in all of us at various times in our lives. Feelings of dissatisfaction with life and general unhappiness can cause great distress. The following are just some of the experiences that bring people to counselling or psychotherapy.
In accordance with the BACP ethical framework for good practice, I am in regular supervision. The purpose of supervision is that I gain further insights into the way I work with my clients, in order to provide the best possible support to them. Client anonymity is always maintained. The first appointment is an opportunity for both of us to decide whether we wish to work together and, if so, negotiate a counselling or psychotherapy contract.
Through 2015 I will be facilitating a series of workshops, for small groups of women who, like me, are committed to facing themselves and deepening their connection to their body soul wisdom. The workshops are about finding those aspects of ourselves that prevent us from living more fully. Many times this 'locked-in' energy, our buried potential, is unconscious.
