Services
There may be times in your life when you feel that events or issues are too much to handle by yourself. You may have been struggling for some time and this has left you feeling confused and distressed. Maybe you have tried to talk to a family member or friend, but feel that they are too emotionally involved in your situation or really don't have an understanding of your problem.
In the last seven years I have worked extensively with children and teenagers in a variety of settings. I have seen how they are faced with an ever growing number of challenges. Sometimes they are just unable to cope with life situations or the dysfunctional thought patterns they experience. Emotions become intense and counselling offers them a space to explore them in a safe environment.
As a result of these behaviours, emotions and thoughts are distorted and focus in life revolves around restricting food. Therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental and safe environment; giving space away from everyday life to understand how Anorexia has developed and how it currently impacts on your life.
As a result of these behaviours, feelings of guilt and disgust occur at the lack of control after binge eating. Sufferers may have also tried many diets without success, creating the feeling of a hopeless cycle. Therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental and safe environment; giving you space away from everyday life to understand how Bingeing or Compulsive Eating has developed and how it currently impacts on your life.
The length of time you may come to counselling depends very much on your circumstances. A specific issue may only take a few sessions, while more complex and deep-rooted issues may take longer. I provide therapy for clients with private health care and invoice directly to the company. I reserve the right to ask for the fee should you cancel within 24 hours or fail to arrive.
