Pippins has been educating pre-school children for 25 years. Launched by Sally Scobie (top right), the management team today comprises co-owner Anita Huckle (below right) and Nursery Manager Lynne Dear. Our wider nursery team is committed to working with parents, children and families to provide high quality care and education.
We encourage our team to develop their knowledge and skills to optimise the experience of the children who attend Pippins. Pippins also employs a selection of peripatetic staff including specialist French, music, sports coaching, forest school, and dance and drama staff.

Services
Welcome to Pippins Nursery, a modern pre-school for children aged from 0-5. Situated in delightful fruit orchards on the Suffolk/Essex border, Pippins Nursery brings child care to a new level, offering a superb, child-friendly care and learning centre in East Anglia. Please take a look around our website to gain a flavour of our modern, light-infused premises, see pictures of our staff and hopefully answer many questions you may have.
Pippins is an approved provider for the delivery of the Free Early Education Entitlement on behalf of Essex County Council. Government funded places for two, three and four year olds are provided free of charge for up to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. At Pippins, these hours are stretched over the year to keep fees consistent each month.
Encouraged to learn through choosing, trying and doing themselves, children develop confidence, self-esteem, respect and interest in people and the world around them. This confidence-building approach to learning harnesses the immense capacity of children to absorb information when given the freedom and independence to learn at their own pace.
Children leave Pippins well prepared for 'big school'. The local area is well served with excellent primary schools and our children have gone on to Bures, Pebmarsh, Maplestead, St Margaret's (Gosfield), Littlegarth (Nayland), Earls Colne, Holmwood (Colchester), Chapel, St Mary's Stanway, Fordham, to name just a few.
Being physically healthy is not simply about healthy nutritious food, but includes a clean, safe environment, mental stimulation, access to the outdoors and loving relationships. Babies and children thrive when their physical and emotional needs are met and at Pippins great emphasis is placed on providing our children with opportunities to access activities and experiences outside in all weathers.
