Holmwood House School and Nursery would not be what it is without our team of truly passionate and dedicated teachers and support staff. He was previously Head of Lower School at Haileybury where he taught for 20 years. Educated at Wellington College, then to Durham where he did a History degree and PGCE.
More recently, he gained an MA in Educational Leadership at Bath. He was previously a senior examiner in history for the IB, as well as being involved in the IB Curriculum Review Committee - and he has experience of inspecting schools for the ISI too. Mrs Francesca Bradbury is the Deputy Head, Learning Support Coordinator and DSL at Holmwood House.

Beautiful Alexander "Greek" Thomson house commissioned by the Couper Bros. In the 1850's who were wealthy paper and stationery manufacturers. Their generous funds built the famous Victoria Infirmary. The house has beautiful gardens with a pair of Giant redwood trees imported from California. The house is currently closed for indoor viewing but the gardens are open and free to visit with magnificent views of the house . An exceptional experience.

Recently visited this fascinating and historical location, great to see it has now had many of Greek Thompson’s original features restored, easy to navigate the rooms and there’s loads of information cards in each room also helpful and informative staff on hand if you should require.Be sure to visit the tea room, good selection of scones and cakes as well as a variety of teas and coffee,a bit cramped when busy but worth it for a wee break, lovely gardens beautifully kept and ample free parking.Run by The National Trust so there is an entrance fee if not a member but well worth it to see this piece
