Bowes Pre-school is situated within the grounds of Bowes Hutchinson CofE (Aided) School, in the rural village of Bowes near Barnard Castle. We are a small and friendly, term time only, committee ran registered charity. Bowes Pre-school offers a high standard of care and education. We encourage the children to be explorers, investigators and questionners.
To use their senses and their imagination to think creatively, to seek out knowledge and discover the world around them. The Pre-school is registered with Ofsted to care for no more than 20 children per session in the early years age group. We are able to take children from 15 months of age, however please contact us if you would like more information.

My son has been here for only 1 term, but in such a short time he has settled wonderfully and really grown in confidence. Thank you for all of your help, time and patience with him. You have given him such a wonderful start to his journey at Bowes School. My daughter has had a wonderful time at Bowes Pre-school.
We use our outside area every day and in all weathers, so your child will always need weather appropriate clothing, e.g. a warm coat, a hat and gloves in the winter, a sun hat and plenty of sun cream in the summer. During cold weather we recommend that you dress your child in layers rather than one thick jumper as this makes regulating their body temperature much easier.
The Pre-School is situated in the centre of the village of Bowes, approximately 4 miles south west of Barnard Castle.
The cabin is situated within the playground of Bowes Hutchinson's CE (Aided) School and has the opportunity to take full advantage of the school's extensive facilities including the spacious school hall, secure play ground for bikes and wheeled toys, playing field, climbing area, gruffalo trail, secret garden and early years outdoor area.

Here at Bowes Pre-school we are committed to providing a high quality pre-school environment for children to play and learn together. At Pre-school children begin to experience and learn about the world around them and how to cope with life's many excitements and challenges. Open and honest communications between staff and the child's parents/carers are crucial to help to enhance a child's education.
We want your child to be happy and feel secure at Pre-school and we want you to feel the same about leaving your child with us. All children are different and there are no set rules when leaving them for the first time. You know your child better than anyone else and we want you both to feel comfortable with any arrangements made when settling them into the group.
