Been with this gym for roughly 6 months now and its the best one I've been to ever!
Its affordable, the staff are always incredibly nice and helpful, the classes and the equipments are really good too.
I've recommended it to everyone. People might start thinking Im a paid sponsor because its actually that good.

The gym itself is alright - what you can expect in this price range. The staff, however, unhelpful and rude which is also a reoccurring theme of other reviews of this place.
There is not enough room for classes organised during the busiest times of the day on the gym floor. The members of staff block access to equipment and are often very confrontational.

It's a brilliant place for a workout. The machines are state-of-the-art and the innovative classes are just great. In addition, the staff are extremely helpful and passionate about what they do. Turn up there, talk to them and they will cater to your needs as much as possible. And I bet they will get you motivated (I signed up last week, for the very first time in my life and today - Monday morning at 7.30 - I turned up for a workout). Magic! Keep up the brilliant work guys!

This is my former gym. Former for a reason. Really, if you're a student or alumni, it IS super cheap. However, it made me feel like walking to my death every time I went because....Ahem....I have a funny thing about smells. Not the 'Oh, people are SWEATING...SWEAT the pounds off, you SWEATY macho MEN (and women).' Uh, no, this was a 'I've been working out for three hours and didn't bother to put on deodorant' smell. And it was there 85% of the time I went.
Now, that's not exactly the GYM's fault but um.... avoid the upstairs cardio room if AT.ALL

So i probably wouldn't have gone here if it weren't attached to my school, but it's the cheapest gym I have found that I am kind of angry that I didn't start going sooner.
The only thing that sucks for me is that I am no longer attending classes at City so I still get a discount as an alumni, but it's a bit out of my area, so i have to take a bus to the gym....
but they have free cycling classes for members, and it's not too crowded. so it's nice to be able to go to a gym and not feel like you are being judged by people who are wearing make up to the gym...

Gym in the morning is hard at the beginning, but if you get into it, it starts to make fun. Saddler Sport Centre is geographically well placed on Goswell Road, just a 10 minute walk from City University of London at Angle. It belongs in fact to City University of London.
The gym is nothing to be compared with other fancy gyms in London, but it is clean, has all the equipment needed and a good atmosphere. While early in the morning the majority of the clientele are people who have to go to work, towards the evening the gym hall gets filled up with students.
