Services
This fine and rambling Highland lodge, with its origins in the late Georgian era, was the home of the Davy family for over a century. George Baynton Davy (1838-1907) was from Nottinghamshire, England and moved to Scotland after his marriage to Martha MacKay, the daughter of a local lawyer from Fort William.
Double bedroom with standard double bed (4 feet 6 inches wide) en suite shower room and garden views. Twin bedroom with two single beds (each 3 feet wide), en suite shower room and garden views. A very spacious room with a king size bed (5 feet wide), a smaller double bed (4 feet wide) and en suite shower room.
Relax at your own table in our elegant dining room. Enjoy the fine art, garden views, glimpses of the river and the aerial activity around our bird table. Individually prepared fresh fruit cocktails burst with flavour and include Scottish strawberries and raspberries when in season.

Our full Scottish breakfast includes bacon and pork sausage from local butchers, famous Stornoway black pudding, Dingwall haggis, lovely free range eggs, vine tomatoes and chestnut mushrooms.Flakes of Speyside smoked salmon mixed with free range scrambled eggs served on toasted seeded or wholemeal bread.
A professional gardener from Kew in London was employed to landscape the grounds in the mid-19th century. Evidence of formal Victorian flower beds and hebaceous borders still remain and there is an excellent photographic record of the grounds over a period of 130 years. In the 1890s a riverside path was laid - now truncated and overgrown - running from the Lodge to the ruins of 18th century High Bridge over a mile away.
Eating out in the village. Within a couple of minutes' walk - Russell's Restaurant (2 AA Rosettes), Old Station Restaurant & Bar and 2 hotels serving bar food. Old Pines Restaurant is 20 mins walk (1 mile). Many other local pubs and restaurants are just a short drive away. Scenic and mostly low level long distance walk of 79 miles.
