Nestled between Newtonmore and Laggan in the Cairngorms National Park, Glentruim Castle and Cottages offers visitors a beautifully secluded and comfortable retreat, while being on the doorstep of some of the highlands' most breathtaking scenery and outdoor pursuits. The castle's interior is traditional, nodding to its heritage while offering every modern comfort.
The ambience in the Dining Room was amazing with the fire burning, the candles lit and the music playing in the background. A beautiful setting - unforgettable!. Having been recently refurbished from top to toe, Glentruim Castle offers a perfect blend of traditional highland living and luxurious home comforts.
Set on the edge of the estate, Gate Lodge is a traditional cottage that has been sensitively updated to offer a peaceful and secluded retreat for four people, and a chance to get closer to nature. Perfect for families, it contains a lovely carpeted living and dining area with a wood-burning stove, a king sized bedroom and a twin room, and a beautiful freestanding bath for soaking weary limbs after a day in the hills.
We saw an amazing amount of wildlife including a golden eagle, masses of red deer, a mountain hare and red squirrels just outside the window and most amazing of all a wild cat on the border of the grounds. An unforgettable holiday!. Tucked away behind the stable block, Laundry Cottage is delightfully private, with its own breath-taking views down the Spey Valley to the tiny village of Laggan.
The historic Glentruim Estate is located near the confluence of the Rivers Spey and Truim, three miles south of the village of Newtonmore. It is at the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park, Britain's largest National Park and the geographical heart of Scotland. The Estate is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

My husband and I were married at Glentruim on 31 October 2020. We stayed in the laundry cottage and could not have felt more welcome. Deirdre was accommodating, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She gave us access to the chapel the night before the ceremony so we could decorate using the foliage we gathered, with permission, from the site. Glentruim itself is beautiful beyond compare, offering views of mountains, waterfalls, and rivers. In the heart of the Cairngorms, our stay was the absolute highlight of 2020. We cannot wait to come back again!

We booked Glentrium for our private intimate wedding, just the two of us. After booking one of the cottages back in 2018, we had a look around the castle for our wedding and absolutely loved the feel of the Castle. Along with the castle being in our favourite place the Cairngorms, it was the perfect choice for our intimate wedding. Our catering arm : Speyside Kitchen has delivered a number of times and also set for dinner service not long ago. Easy access off A9 into the hills towards Laggan. Amazing vistas all around. Castle grounds traditional with roedeer welcoming you at gate and on grounds. Castle furnishings are fabulous so your comfort is truly considered..

The perfect wedding venue. It’s a self service castle. Huge kitchen, different rooms for piano, reading, tv, dinning and function room. The basement consists of a small sauna and a roomy cinema. Rooms are huge and en-suite. Smaller rooms have to share bathrooms. Fully carpeted with sufficient heating. A few meters away is the chapel, and a cottage to house more guests. Beautiful manicured grounds. It’s truly a magical place to get married.

We held our wedding celebrations at Glentruim Estate in Summer 2017 and are simply filled with the warmest memories of our stay and our Wedding Day. The estate managers/hosts Deirdre and Alec completely facilitated the Wedding of our wildest dreams and all the special moments that happened there for us throughout the week. We won't ever be able to thank them enough and we really feel like a part of the Glentruim ‘family’!
