Wilderness Cottages
Wilderness Cottages have a variety of self-catering properties that offer something different; such as a restored wing of a castle, a log house, a traditional croft, a converted barn or a cottage near a loch or the sea. Our self-catering cottages provide excellent year-round holiday accommodation, and many have log fires for an instant romantic atmosphere, most have stunning views of mountains, forest, and lochs.

This is what Scotland and Wilderness Cottages is all about! The Steading Blairmore is a stunning conversion of a traditional barn, beautifully furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout. The location is an ideal base for exploring with village amenities and the North Coast 500 close-by. Scotland is the ideal family friendly self-catering destination and a holiday cottage provides the perfect base to explore our wonderful country.
Services
We would like to introduce ourselves and our policies to you and help you to get to know who we are. Wilderness cottages was formed in 1993 and grew from letting a single self catering cottage near Loch Ness to the business we have today. We offer a selection of high quality holiday cottages, houses and apartments throughout Scotland.
If you have a holiday cottage or self catering property in Scotland that you think would benefit from the marketing and booking management services Wilderness Cottages offer, then please leave your details here. You can request our printed brochure here, but please consider the environment - all details are available on this web site.
Balachladdich is a traditional country house, situated just twenty minutes from the City of Inverness. The property overlooks the waters of the Cromarty Firth and it's position would make an ideal base for exploring the Highlands further. Braehead Steading is located near the picturesque village of Ballater, which is in the heart of Royal Deeside.
Are you looking for a weekend away in a Scottish holiday cottage? Perhaps a mid-week break has more appeal? We have a selection of holiday cottages that offer short breaks at various times of the year. If you're looking for a short break to recharge your batteries, a wilderness cottage could be the very thing.
We publish a brochure in the autumn every year, and the properties that have joined us since then are listed below. The Steading Blairmore is a stunning conversion of a traditional barn, beautifully furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout. The location is an ideal base for exploring with village amenities and the North Coast 500 close-by.

Brain from Wilderness Cottages rescued our post lockdown holiday after our self catering cancelled on the day. He was super prompt and helpful in finding us a fantastic alternative. We can't thank or recommend him enough. Thanks Brian!

Excellent company to deal with. Brian is a credit to the cottage rental business. And a total opposite to some of the other cowboys I have dealt with! A+

We had a terrible time dealing with Brian at Wilderness Cottages. We had Seascapes Cottage, Kirkcolm on the Mull of Galloway booked in March. Unfortunately, the week we booked coincided with the Covid lockdown.
We were not entitled to a refund as our booking started two days before the official lockdown kicked in, and Seascapes would not consider a re-booking even though the country had effectively shut down and there was precious little open. This was galling enough, however, to compound matters Brian at Wilderness Cottages did not respond to any of the emails we sent him from March to June enquiring

Have used Wilderness Cottages several times now and always found them attentive, friendly and professional. Despite our recent booking having difficulties due to Covid-19, they have bent over backwards to help us and happily swapped our date twice now. We appreciate all the help we've been given and will certainly use again.

Critical: Professionalism
Really disappointed with Wilderness Cottages attitude to the Coronavirus problem with their arrogant attitude. We tried to be as flexible as possible but they made every effort to ignore my calls and Emails. I will never use them again.

It was the third time now we've booked a cottage with Wilderness Cottages and our expectations were always fully satisfied. The cottages were as described and well maintained. The contact via email was easy, fast and friendly. We have no complaints and will definitely book again.
