Services
A traditional trip to the vets can be traumatic for cats. Cats live in a world of overlapping scents, so being surrounded by unfamiliar smells and noises, intimidated by inquisitive dogs and handled unceremoniously by time-pressured vets can be very stressful indeed. We knew we could do better and that's why we founded SimplyCats, the only exclusively feline veterinary practice in the North East of England.
Sarah started SimplyCats in 2009 with Paul, her life and business partner, as they felt cats needed their own exclusive clinic. Her passion for cats has lasted since she adopted her first stray as a newly qualified vet and she's loved working with them ever since! She has two ginger cats at home, in addition to horses, dogs, goldfish and children.
After placing your order, we ask you to allow two working days before collecting your repeat prescription from the practice. For all medications, your cat needs to be assessed by one of our vets at least every 3 months, although sometimes more often if they are on a new medication or dose. Is a legal requirement for ourselves to ensure you and your cat are still 'under our care'.
Our aim is to give each of our patients the same level of care that we would give to our own cats, and we can only achieve this by having a great team of highly skilled and deeply committed staff. We are incredibly proud of our amazing team and we are committed to supporting them through every stage of their career - caring for their professional development with CPD, their emotional wellbeing and their personal fulfilment.

I recently registered my 3 cats here and so far I have been overwhelmed with the level of care and professionalism. The staff are very friendly and have been great with both the cats and us. I don't know why I didn't register with them sooner! Thank you for looking after my babies with the love and care you'd show your own.

Cat taken to vets and vet stated heart disease..ran numerous tests and found nothing (£900). Then referred to heart specialist at over another £2k but said prognosis would be less than a year..we took her home to let her live out her time at peace at home.. sadly she deteriorated in December and was gasping for every breath..we referred to another vet with the foresight of having her put to sleep during the night. within 30 mins the other vets at gateshead diagnosed feline asthma and medicine recovered her breathing within 20 minutes. We have now registered with another vet and the treatment

I’ve never felt compelled to write a review of any Vet that I’ve visited before, but everyone at SimplyCats has gone above and beyond what I expected while looking after my cat Izzy - I just wanted to say thank you for making her as comfortable as possible in the last few months of her life, particularly when we had to bring her in for the final time.
I would never go anywhere else with my other cats, big thanks in particular to Lucie who took great care of Izzy - and to Caroline and Deb who helped sort everything else out when I was feeling particularly upset and made things as easy as possible

The ladies here love cats, I know that. They are dedicated and I wouldn’t trust anywhere else with my two boys. I’m not waiting 10 minutes for the phone to be picked up like other vets, the ladies on the desk are so attentive and will always try to help you out. The Veterinarians and the Nurses are lovely, they really know their stuff and it puts me at ease.

Took my kittens to Simply Cats for a 6-month review. It was their 1st visit to Simply Cats as I have transferred from another vets practice. I was really impressed about the lovely feedback I had from the vet Lucy who rang and chatted with me for around 20mins or so.. she answered my questions and showed genuine interest in the health and well-being of both my kittens. I would definately recommend Simply Cats!

I'm so glad I moved my cat to this vet clinic where there are no dogs to scare her in the waiting room.
The staff are lovely and put you at ease right away and you never feel rushed on the phone. My cat definitely receives excellent care from this vet clinic. I wouldn't take my cat anywhere else now!

We have recently changed to this cat only vets as it is nearer where we live. We have had good service here. The staff are all lovely and while it costs a bit more here it has been a lot less stressful for the boys as there are no doggy smells or barking dogs which they did not like. Our 3 legged ginger cat Winston had to have an operation to have a tumour removed from his head which we thought was just a spot so we were pleased they picked up on that. I definately recommend this vets.

We have used Simply Cats for several years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Recently our 19 year old cat needed treatment. After a major procedure with in-patient care he now seems to have a new lease of life and is back to almost normal. The care, skill and commitment given by all the staff is second to none. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Absolutely amazing practice, I moved on using to simply cats from another vets during 2020, i the service is second to none. Staff are always so helpful and friendly and communication is great with owner and vets. All my cats seem much more settled after visiting the vets compared to how they used to react coming home from an appointment. I will always use simply cats now for my cats they are definitely the best around.
