Smart Move Housing
Smartmove Housing is one of the many projects run as part of First Housing Aid & Support Services commitment to providing and developing services that offer a meaningful response to the needs of people that are homeless, or are at risk of becoming homeless. Smartmove Housing aims to help break down common access barriers within the private rented sector, creating access to all.

Services
The aim of the scheme is to address Housing needs through the use of the Private Rented Sector and to prevent and/or reduce homelessness across Northern Ireland by using good quality, affordable properties. Smartmove works with vulnerable, low income individuals who do not qualify for Social Housing, to access and maintain a Tenancy within the Private Rented Sector.

First Housing Aid & Support Services (FHASS) is a charitable organisation offering advice, support and accommodation to people that are homeless and in acute housing need across Northern Ireland. FHASS were established in 1989 in response to rising levels of homelessness and housing disadvantage amongst young single people in Derry.
Smartmove Housing has 20 years experience of working in partnership with private landlords and have recently won an award in excellence in the private rented sector from CIH. We believe good management will protect the investment potential and reputation of the Private Rented Sector through best practice.
Criticisms include it's too expensive, it's not secure, and often that the accommodation offered is to a poor standard. We aim to help you access quality accommodation in the Private Rented Sector and give you support to maintain your tenancy. A minimum 12 month Tenancy Agreement and continued support to maintain your tenancy including a payment card to pay any rents easily.
