The Royal Oak
The Royal Oak is a thriving village pub offering great food and drinks in a warm friendly atmosphere. It has everything you could hope for - including a leafy beer garden, pool table and roaring fires in winter - plus a few surprises, such as eclectic local artwork and monthly acoustic jam sessions.

The Royal Oak, in the pretty South Hams village of Malborough, is just a short drive or wonderful walk from Kingsbridge, Hope Cove and Salcombe. The Oak is open for dinner every day except Sundays. On Sundays we serve lunch from 1pm (booking definitely advisable). The dinner menu is changed daily. Our chef uses fresh ingredients sourced from leading local independent suppliers, including meat from top butchers Lidstones of Kingsbridge.

The most scrumptious Sunday Roast had here today. Perfectly cooked pork, succulent crackling with spring greens, cauliflower cheese, fluffy roasties and to die for homemade gravy! Just lovely! Thank you to Tim and Lou for a delicious meal!

I try to visit the RO from Thames Valley for a couple of days of R&R each year. This is an archetypical English pub with B&B rooms - not a 5star Hotel. And as such is a complete pleasure to be in.
Tim, the Landlord, has created a unique brand of hospitality. Good beer, decent food (esp the steak) and live music.
I along with the gang of locals, love the place.

I came to stay with my ten year old daughter, 3month old baby and our dog this week, Tim was amazing with us from start to finish of our stay, the room was so clean , spacious and the bed was so comfy! Bed… sheets and towels smelt fresh, fab shower . Each morning asked how we slept, and what would we like to eat and drink,
Please see past the insteresting and quirky decor because we were so comfortable and relaxed! Thankyou Tim we will definitely be back next year xx

Great atmosphere and friendly service from the waitress, even the chef popped out to see if we enjoyed our delicious fish and chips. As someone who's spent a large amount of time in Jamaica, I loved the owners unique personal collection of African artifacts.... Highly recommend it.

A last minute quiet break, craving some peace and quiet away from the crowds and some wonderful walks. Superb position with easy access to amazing walks by the coast and very comfy stay with a wonderful, interesting host and friendly pub dog. Perfect stay for us. Also, couldn't have been more helpful when we realised we had left laptop charger in the room and kindly found it and posted it on a few days later. Would 100% stay again.
