Plantation House
Plantation House, set in the glorious South hams, is a beautiful, privately run boutique restaurant with rooms with a AA 5 Gold Star award and 2 AA Rosettes. We are all about good food, warm service and attentive informality. Now fully restored, this much loved listed Georgian rectory offers a harmonious mix of contemporary and traditional styles blended with discreet comfort, soothing surroundings and modern sophistication.

Nestling in its own gardens, on the sunny side of the picturesque river Erme valley, the house is blessed with stunning rural views in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Services
Almost without exception, everything on our menus is prepared in-house; breads, patisserie, chocolates, ice cream. Our kitchen garden provides us with some fine produce. We also gather local wild ingredients and regularly fish the nearby river and sea estuaries. The emphasis of our cooking is on exciting flavours and textures.
Rooms are ensuite with comfortable sitting areas, rural views, bath, shower, underfloor heating, T.V., cafetire coffee, tea and water, fresh fruit, home-made cake, biscuits, White Company products, garden flowers, hot water bottles, hair driers, cooling fans, bathrobes. Eight individually designed, well-proportioned en suite bedrooms.
The hotel is a short drive away from Plymouth with its rich history, theatres, galleries, channel ferry port and new shopping complex. It is within easy reach of the A38 expressway to Cornwall, the Eden project and the airports of Exeter, Bristol and Plymouth.

Even closer is Ivybridge, the gateway to the wilderness of Dartmoor and the veritable bounty of market towns and sailing havens including Salcombe, Dartmouth, Noss Mayo, Kingsbridge, Totnes, Ashburton to name but a few.The South Hams also boasts a rugged coastline with fabulous walks and glorious beaches; simply take your pick.
Sleeping around 15 adults, and a few young ones, the house can be booked exclusively for your occasion. Enjoy country walks, exploring the fabulous coastline of the South Hams or discovering some fascinating market towns. And then return to meet back at Plantation House to relax, chill out in the lounge bar or garden, and enjoy fabulous food, barbecues and great conversation.

Very pleasant overnight stay, traditional style, satisfying food, and contentious covid. Sporadic Road noise at the front, no double glazing, and I did not master the heating system, but my room was ok

We joined family staying here for an evening meal. It was fabulous even for myself who had warned them that I am vegan. Despite not normally offering a vegan option they produced 3 of the most delicious vegan courses I have ever had.
