The first practice was set up in 2004 by David Bridle, an experienced and highly qualified dispensing optician with over 30 years' experience. His vision was, and still is, to provide excellent eye care and customer service in the Chichester and Bognor Regis area. Our registered office is in Bognor Regis and we have two branches - one in East Wittering, near Chichester and one in Felpham, near Bognor Regis.
We employ 12 staff in total and our friendly team work together to provide an excellent service so that our customers can benefit from reliable and knowledgeable opticians in this area of West Sussex. Our optometric services have regulatory approval from two national bodies. We are registered with the General Optical Council and are members of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians.

Services
Bridle Opticians in Felpham and East Wittering are looking for an Optometrist to work at least two days a week in their Felpham or East Wittering branches, especially a Saturday. We are always keen to talk with people who want to work with us, especially if they can show us how they can help us grow.
This bright and colourful area displays one of the best selections of children's frames in the country. Children absolutely love the freedom of choosing their own glasses, sports goggles and sunglasses. Children have their teeth and health checked so why not their eyes? Eye tests are completely free up to the age of 19 (if in full time education).
At Bridle Opticians we have always specialised in two particular areas of optometry that make us smile - sunglasses for sunny days, and children who are usually funny and happy and are looking for glasses. If your son or daughter plays a sport then we can make sure they have soft glasses that will not get broken in the midst of competition.
If a child requires correction for their vision, most people think of glasses; however, contact lenses are becoming more accessible from a far younger age. Contact lenses are more convenient if your child plays sports, especially contact sports. They will not be broken on the playing field. Children often have self-esteem issues and sometimes contact lenses can help these.
How old does my child have to be before they can have an eye test? A. Children can be tested at any age. It is recommended that an optometrist sees them before they start school and start learning to read. Often, vision problems can be the reason a child does not perform well at school, for example because they cannot see the board.

Toddler eye test
The most rudest stuck up environment I've ever been in. Having to wait outside for a 2pm appointment when standing on their doorstep at 1.55 with a 3yr old toddler after having to put drops in his eyes which is uncomfortable in sunlight, still was not allowed in out of the sunshine, knocked on the door at 2pm - even though the appointment was at 2pm- to be met by 2 unfriendly receptionists who complained their lunch break was cut short by 2 mins! By the way it wasn't! We knocked on the door for our 2pm appointment at 2pm! After being allowed in we waited 10mins for

Horrendous customer service. Had to wait for them to get back from lunch at 2pm (exactly) for a 2pm appointment?? So had to wait outside. Waited for 10 minutes whilst the loudly discussed their lives. Apparently they are experts in children's eyecare but they are certainly not experts in how to deal with or talk to children. My 4 year old child asked innocent questions which the snotty optician either didn't reply to or gave a passive aggressive answer. Only reason I go there is because the hospital reccommends them for children (god knows why) but ill be making a complaint to them too. Never seen

Outstanding service and product. I used S/savers to start with and recieved glasses (vari-focal),,so so inferior to Bridle Opticians, that I barely used them..Poundland was better, truth! Within seconds of trying on Bridles lenses a new world opened up. Outstanding vari-focals. Lenses are amazing. Thank you staff at Bridles, another customer for life.
