Services
Your spouse has acted in such a way that it is unreasonable for you to be expected to continue living with him or her. You and your spouse have lived apart for two years and your spouse consents to the divorce. You and your spouse have lived apart for five years, whether or not your spouse consents to the divorce.
Experiencing the breakdown of a Civil Partnership can be traumatic. We will support you through the process of obtaining a dissolution of your Civil Partnership. Contested dissolutions are rare and often an agreement will be reached about who should start the dissolution and the fact to be relied on.
Domestic abuse exists in every sphere of society no matter your age, gender, sexual orientation, financial status or culture. Domestic abuse includes physical assault, verbal abuse, emotional manipulation, and financial control. We appreciate that you will need urgent help and can usually see you on the day you contact us.
Collaborative law is a process in which you and your collaborative lawyer work with your former partner's collaborative lawyer over a number of meetings to resolve matters amicably. The aim of collaborative law is to resolve family disputes without going to court by coming to an agreement which is as fair, cost effective and completed as quickly as possible.
Family mediation is usually a much better option than going to court or negotiating through lawyers. Mediation is a confidential and voluntary process during which you and your former partner will meet with an independent mediator who will help you work out the details of your separation whether they involve your children or finances.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness
I enquired about a matter that this solicitor doesn't look in to.
The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude, cutting me off abruptly saying 'bye, bye, bye' before I could ask any more questions.

On a scale of 1 to 5, Aitken Harter gets a 10! My solicitor, Patricia MacAvock handled my divorce with professionalism, speed and compassion. Because of her, both stress and expense were kept to an absolute minimum. She is a gem!

I just want to say thank you for the highly professional support I received from Louise during the worst thing I have had to encounter.
No fluffing things up, straight talking, absolutely fantastic.
