David May Motor Services Ivybridge was formed in 1979 by David and Shelagh May. Based at Park Street, Ivybridge, the garage began by carrying out vehicle body and mechanical repairs and, from the outset, the principle of the company was to offer affordable service with customer care the priority. A principle still carried on to this day.
In 1992 it was decided to move to a purpose built site on Ermington Road, Ivybridge, in order to have all operations under one roof, including a display area for up to 20 selected used cars. David May Motor Services is now recommended body repairers for numerous insurance companies as well as a Dupont five star dealership.

Buy with Confidence is an approved trader scheme which has been set up to assist residents to find reputable local businesses. The scheme is run by a partnership of local Trading Standards services. David May has been audited by Trading Standards to ensure they comply with consumer protection legislation and only once they pass can they display the Buy with Confidence logo and be entered onto the website.
Your yearly MOT couldn't be easier. Simply give us a ring and book your car in from Monday to Saturday lunchtime. You can bring your car to the garage and wait in the showroom with a coffee and the day's newspaper or arrange for one of our drivers to pick your car up from your home or place of work.
Being involved in an accident is a stressful experience. At David May Motor Services we take away the trauma of the accident repair process with a friendly and professional service designed to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. As part of our commitment to the customer we gained the BS10125 certificate in body repairs and we are also capable of repairing Electric and PHEV vehicles.

I bought a used car here just over a month ago. They are a very friendly and helpful team and up to this point the after sales care has been great. We had a minor issue with the car but it was sorted within 2 days of letting the garage know, all repairs were covered by the warranty and we were given a free courtesy car while the car was with them.

We hired a 17 seater mini bus to go to Scotland for a week, no problems whatsoever. Initially we were looking for prices and the staff were really helpful, the price was very competitive and their were no hidden extras which unfortunately you tend to get with other hire companies.
